v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lin-qingming lin-qingming released this 30 Sep 06:44

Quote from PDFs and jump back.

  • Copy in Zotero's reader, paste into a note. Selected text arrives as a quote with a link to where it came from; Cmd/Ctrl+click the link to open the PDF at that passage, which flashes. Copying an annotation links to the annotation itself, with its comment below. EPUBs and web snapshots work too.
  • Links to copied PDF text carry the passage's position as rect=. Zotero ignores it elsewhere, so from Typora or a browser the link still opens the right page.

Fixes

  • Dropped items and annotations now land where you drop them, and inserts from the toolbar picker go at the cursor instead of sometimes at the top of the note.

Requires Zotero 8 or later. Updates from earlier versions automatically.

v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lin-qingming lin-qingming released this 30 Sep 06:12

Link Markdown notes to things in your Zotero library, and jump to them.

  • Type @ and part of a title, creator or year to insert a link to a matching item.
  • Drag items from the items list, or annotations from the PDF/EPUB reader, into a note. An annotation becomes a quote linking back to its page, with its comment below; image annotations bring their image.
  • Z button in the toolbar: pick items in Zotero's item selector.
  • Cmd/Ctrl+click a link to follow it: items are shown in the library, PDFs/EPUBs open (at the annotation, for annotation links), other Markdown notes open in the editor, web links open in the browser.

Links are ordinary Markdown using Zotero's own zotero://select/… and zotero://open/… URLs, so they work on every synced device and from Typora too.

Requires Zotero 8 or later. Updates from 0.1.0 automatically.

v0.1.0

@lin-qingming lin-qingming released this 30 Sep 05:40

First release.

  • Double-click a Markdown attachment to edit it in a Zotero tab (Vditor, Typora-style instant rendering).
  • Paste a screenshot or drop images: they're saved to <note>.assets/ next to the note, in its storage folder, and linked by relative path, so they sync with the note via WebDAV or Zotero storage.
  • Right-click an item → New Markdown Note; right-click a Markdown attachment → Open with External App.
  • Autosaves; reloads when the file changes on disk; asks before overwriting a file changed elsewhere.

Requires Zotero 8 or later.

Install: Tools → Plugins → gear icon → Install Plugin From File…, pick zotero-md-editor-0.1.0.xpi.
