DiffSuite 0.2.1 — portable desktop GUI

Self-contained Electron shells for the DiffSuite GUI. No installer required.

Assets

Platform File Size SHA-256
Windows x64 (portable) DiffSuite-0.2.1-portable.exe 67 MB f513bcbc255d64c83201ed0131fe41f35ddb37952ea8805d4694ecb4304a1f78
Linux x64 (AppImage) DiffSuite-0.2.1.AppImage 103 MB c7d4549b9364752b21f3ca38e9e5c3e4d1f118bb00f062d21387a5134d96e47f

Windows: run the .exe directly; it extracts to a temporary folder. SmartScreen may warn because the build is unsigned — choose “More info → Run anyway”.

Linux:

chmod +x DiffSuite-0.2.1.AppImage
./DiffSuite-0.2.1.AppImage

If FUSE is unavailable, run ./DiffSuite-0.2.1.AppImage --appimage-extract-and-run. On minimal distributions you may need libfuse2.

Included

  • 4-step fitting wizard (Input → Model → Fit → Results)
  • Embedded canvas NIfTI viewer (gray / turbo / jet)
  • Interactive ellipse ROI (single slice or extrude) + ROI-based windowing
  • 3D lasso/brush voxel selection with histogram study and Gaussian fit
  • 16 diffusion models: ADC, eADC, DKI-2D, fast DKI, fast DKI+, AIS (U/C/SC), AKC-ADCi, DDC, IVIM segmented/full, DKI-IVIM, DDVD, CTRW*, FROC*
  • Multi-b signal extrapolation with model-predicted maps
  • Residual-based fit quality report

Runtime requirement — read this

Both builds are thin Electron shells around the Python backend, so the target machine also needs:

  1. Python 3.9+ on PATH (python on Windows, python3 on Linux)
  2. DiffSuite installed:
    git clone https://github.com/lippisch2/Diffsuite.git
    cd Diffsuite
    pip install -e .
    pip install -r requirements-api.txt

  3. dcm2niix in PATH only if you load DICOM data.

The app starts python -m uvicorn diffsuite.api:app on 127.0.0.1:18923 and opens the window when the backend is ready. Without Python + the package it exits after a 30-second timeout.

Notes

  • Not code-signed. Research software — not a medical device.
  • Built from main at tag v0.2.1.
  • Linux build was smoke-tested: the packaged app started the FastAPI backend and served /api/status successfully.
