v0.1.8
GPUI Fast v0.1.8 fixes X11 input methods and scaling on Linux, CJK line wrapping, text measurement in content-sized boxes, touch fling direction, and native surfaces inside dialogs.
- Wait for the XIM handshake before creating an input context on focus, so an X11 window focused early no longer loses its input method (fcitx5) for the whole session.
- Take the X11 scale factor from
GDK_SCALEbefore guessing it from monitor DPI, so GPUI windows match the session scale under XWayland setups such as Hyprland withforce_zero_scaling. - Keep CJK closing punctuation (
,,。,」…) off the start of a wrapped line and opening brackets off its end. - Don't answer an unconstrained text measurement with a measurement wrapped at another width, which could leave text in a content-sized box wrapped too narrow.
- Reconcile touch release velocity so a momentum fling never reverses or dies on release.
- Stack a native surface (e.g. a web view) hosted in a
deferreddraw above the overlay, so it shows inside dialogs and sheets instead of under their background. - Record story-gallery scroll CPU on gpui-fast against gpui-pre (
docs/story-scroll-cpu.md): mean scroll CPU 13.8% → 8.7%.
Changes: #60, #61, #62, #63, #64, #65, and #66. No new public API.
