ACMX2 — New Release

Overview

ACMX2 is a real-time shader processing tool that combines video, camera input, or static images with OpenGL shaders to create generative visual art. It supports shader packs, audio-reactive effects for creative experimentation.

What’s New

  • Graphics Mode: You can now select an image instead of a video or camera source. This makes it easier to experiment with still textures and create shader-based artwork from photos or static visuals.

  • New Shader Pack: A new shader pack has been added with a variety of effects designed to take advantage of the new Graphics Mode. It includes several new experimental shaders for testing and creative exploration.

  • Bug Fixes and Improvements: Numerous bugs have been fixed to improve performance and stability across all input modes. Shader loading and sorting are now more reliable, and file paths are properly updated when switching lists.

Important Note for Windows Users

There is a known issue on Windows when using any audio device other than the system default for input or output. To ensure that ACMX2 detects and processes audio correctly, go into your Windows Sound Settings and set your preferred device as the default input and output. Once this is done, restart the program to apply the change.

Notes:

If you are updating from an earlier version, make sure to refresh your shader list so the new pack is detected. The graphics mode can be selected through the input options menu.

To run, you need to first extract, open ACMX2-GUI.exe, then set the shader path in the properties under the File menu.
