| 💻 Windows PC | PocketPad-Setup.exe |
| 📱 Android phone | PocketPad.apk (tap it on the phone) |
What's new
- Play over a USB cable. Turn on USB debugging on the phone once, plug it in, tap Allow — it connects by itself, no code. Steadier than Wi-Fi.
- Several phones on USB at once — each is its own controller.
- New Connect with USB cable button on the phone.
- The app now turns to either landscape side.
Update both apps (PC and phone).
PocketPad v0.6.4

Or pick a file below:
| Your device | Download | Then |
|---|---|---|
| 💻 Windows PC | PocketPad-Setup.exe | Open it → Install → Finish. "Windows protected your PC"? More info → Run anyway |
| 📱 Android phone | PocketPad.apk — tap it on the phone | Open it → Install. Asked about "unknown apps"? Settings → Allow |
Ignore the "Source code" files — those are for developers.
What's new
- New phones start on Layout 1 (d-pad and buttons, no sticks). Change it any time under ⚙ → Layout presets.
- Includes everything from 0.6.3: the phone finds your PC by itself when its address changes, and the pairing code no longer changes on restart.

New to PocketPad? Follow the step-by-step guide.
Ignore the "Source code" files — those are for developers.
What's new
- The phone finds your PC by itself. If your PC's address changes (new Wi-Fi, router restart), the phone searches the Wi-Fi ("Looking for your PC…") and connects, instead of failing with "Couldn't find the PC".
- The pairing code no longer changes every time the PC app starts. Pair once and just tap Connect after that.
- After updating, scan the QR on the PC one more time. After that you won't need to again.
Update both apps (PC and phone) to get these fixes. Your phone layout and settings are kept.
PocketPad v0.6.2
Fixes rapid-input drops: every tap now reaches the game, in order, even when mashing — three fast presses register as three. Also removes the on-phone stutter (gamepad UI no longer rebuilds itself on every touch). Update the phone app; the PC app is unchanged apart from the version number.
PocketPad v0.6.1
A follow-up to v0.6, fixing problems a review found in that release — including
its headline feature not working. Grab both files below.
v0.6 shipped broken; this fixes it
- The layout presets were untappable. Every tap aimed at a preset chip was
swallowed by whatever control sat over it — and started dragging that control
instead. - L3/R3 sat underneath the top bar. They overlapped the Mouse / STICK /
gear chips, and a touch could hit both: tapping STICK also sent a stick click
to the PC, and pressing R3 could delete your right stick or open Settings.
They now sit above BACK/START, and the pad ignores taps a chip already took. - Toggling STICK mid-game dropped every held button for a frame — a
fire-stop-fire stutter if you were holding a trigger. - A stick hidden by a preset came back oversized, landing on the face
buttons where it could no longer be dragged.
Also
- Vibration bursts feel like separate taps again, and the newest press is no
longer the one dropped when several land at once. - X and B no longer swap sides in Arabic or Hebrew.
- Links from the app no longer open your browser as administrator — which
Chrome and Firefox refuse to do alongside a normal window. - The installer launches PocketPad as you, not as whichever administrator
approved setup. - Saved layouts from v0.5 now reset rather than being carried over: the shape
of the data matched, but the anchors underneath it had moved, so old
positions no longer meant what they said.
Layouts reset once on upgrade from v0.5 or earlier. From v0.6.1 onward they
carry across.
PocketPad v0.6
Two sticks, presets, and a pile of input fixes. Grab both files below —
PocketPad-Setup.exe for the PC, PocketPad.apk for the phone.
3D games work now
The right stick was missing, and in any 3D game the right stick is the
camera — so you could walk but never look. Minecraft, Assassin's Creed, Metal
Gear Solid, Call of Duty and Portal 2 were all unplayable for that one reason.
- Right stick — real analog look/aim, on its own touch capture so you can
move and look at the same time. - Left stick and the d-pad now coexist instead of one replacing the other,
so a hotbar is reachable while you walk. - L3 / R3 for sprint and melee (hidden by default — switch them on in the
layout editor).
Four layout presets
A ready-made pad per kind of game, from Settings → Layout presets or the
top of the layout editor:
| Layout 1 | D-pad and buttons only, both larger — fighting games |
| Layout 2 | Adds both sticks — the all-rounder |
| Layout 3 | Left stick, no look stick, bigger face buttons |
| Layout 4 | Everything, stick clicks included |
Every control is yours
Drag, resize and hide any of the twelve controls. Tap one to select it, or
step through them with the ‹ › arrows. A STICK ON/OFF chip on the pad
itself toggles the look stick mid-game without leaving what you are playing.
Fixes
- Presses no longer go missing. Two or three buttons at once, or quick
taps in sequence, could light up on the phone and never reach the PC — the
sender sampled state every 8 ms and a press that began and ended inside one
gap was never transmitted. - Every button vibrates, not just the d-pad.
- Tapping the trackpad clicks. It never did: the press and release landed
between two samples, so the click was dropped every time. Tap anywhere on
the pad surface now — no trip to the LEFT CLICK button. - The d-pad lights only the direction you press rather than both ends of
an axis. - Layout editor drags actually move things.
Heads-up: the PC app now asks for administrator
Say yes to the prompt. Mouse mode moves the real Windows pointer, and
Windows blocks an ordinary program from doing that whenever a window running
as administrator has focus — which is what you hit the moment you minimise
PocketPad and something else comes forward. The gamepad half never needed it;
only the pointer does.
Your saved layout resets once on upgrade — the arrangement changed too much
to carry across. Everything after this update installs in place and keeps it.
PocketPad v0.4
LT/RT triggers, d-pad/stick toggle, every control movable, input fixes, stable APK signing, hardened installer.
PocketPad v0.3
One-click Windows installer (bundles the controller driver, sets the firewall, no .NET needed) + the Android app. Multiplayer up to 4 phones, chord presses, custom layouts, 0-100% vibration, Android 6.0+.
