10.47.0 - 2026-11-05

Ghostex 10.47.0 is out. Ghostex runs much lighter in the background on Windows and macOS, coordinators get a work board, agents' questions take one-click answers, the iPhone gets Voice mode, and the Unified sidebar, the new session picker and the new chat's tray are easier to use.

⚡ Faster and lighter

  • Windows: the Ghostex server uses far less CPU in the background, from 2 to 3.6 cores down to about 0.13 on a busy computer with several sessions.
  • Windows: reading a terminal no longer starts a helper program each time, and background helpers no longer open a hidden console window of their own.
  • Windows: Git is asked about a project again only after its files change, for session status and diff counts, and the status line runs your command without extra launchers.
  • macOS: the Ghostex server reads running sessions and saved logins itself instead of starting a helper program several times a second, and finds agent CLIs without starting a login shell.
  • Git answers are kept until the folder's files change, so idle projects no longer run Git every few seconds.
  • Ghostex starts far fewer GitHub CLI calls for Claude cloud sessions, session links and branch pull request badges.
  • A damaged line in an agent's transcript no longer makes Ghostex read the whole transcript again, and scrolling back through a long chat's history reads only what it hasn't read yet.
  • The Unified sidebar redraws once a second instead of 30 times while agents work, with the classic sidebar's steady status dots.
  • macOS: the Ghostex server raises its open-file limit, so busy computers no longer fail sends and reads with "Too many open files".

🧭 Coordinators

  • A coordinator chat has a work board: its lines of work grouped To do, Needs you, Blocked, Moving, Done and Backlog, placed from its threads, questions and pull request checks; open it from the Board pill above the chat box as a side list or a full overlay, and on the phone as a sheet.
  • Board cards say what to do: a Needs you card offers one-click answers or Answer and Approve in the thread, Done folds into a slim rail, and × twice moves a card to Removed.
  • Clicking a board card puts it in the chat box as a pill, and clicking that pill in a sent message opens the board at the card.
  • A coordinator's threads on other computers show in its Workers list and under it in the sidebar with the computer's name, and open on their own computer.
  • A worker waiting for approval shows a red tag and a red dot in the Workers list.

💬 Chat

  • Answer an agent's question with one click: answer choices in its reply show as buttons under the question, and picking another one corrects the answer you sent.
  • The new chat's tray is one breadcrumb (project › computer › where › branch) that centres or wraps onto two aligned rows when narrow, with ⌥O, ⌥M, ⌥W and ⌥B to change each part.
  • A Saved draft pill replaces the "Another saved draft is available" row: it sits at the start of the pill strip, and clicking it previews the draft with Dismiss and Use draft.
  • The + mention menu lists sessions on your connected computers with their computer and project, and a mention pill for one opens it on its own computer.
  • When the Ghostex server restarts, the chat waits quietly and carries on; only a real outage shows "Couldn't reach Ghostex. It may be restarting." with Retry.
  • Links in questions show their words with a dotted underline in the text colour, also in the answered card, the ? list and Resources.
  • Every pill shows its status the same way, as small coloured dots with counts after its label, with no corner dots.
  • The working bar and tool rows never show a tool's raw JSON; an unknown tool shows its name in words.
  • Marked handovers gain Comms, Held for release and Suggestions sections, and what needs you (Read this, Blocked, Suggestions, Needs you) always comes last.
  • The floating Ghostex button's panel, count tray and docked tab are frosted glass when Glass is on.

🗂️ Sidebar and new sessions

  • Unified cards say Untracked for folders without Git, always keep three rows, and show the links card when you hover.
  • The Unified sidebar hides a disconnected computer's cards until it reconnects, and leaves a coordinator's workers out, with a crew count on the coordinator's card instead.
  • Right-click a Unified project header for the project menu, and drag a card into the main area to split or open it, like a Project sidebar row.
  • Reveal Active Session opens the Working shelf, project group or filter that hides the card and flashes it, and a thin divider sets Drafts apart from the sessions below.
  • The new session picker shows computers under the project name, search starts a session in a found project, projects with the same name merge one way, and Cloud Box shows only once it is set up.

📱 On the phone

  • iPhone: Voice mode is here (#412): talk with an agent in a call that the lock screen, the Dynamic Island and the green call pill show with Mute and End, and in a push-to-talk call a Live Activity on the lock screen gives you Talk and Send with the phone locked; it uses Bluetooth or CarPlay when connected and offers to hold the conversation when a phone call comes in.
  • iPhone: screens with a header no longer crash on iOS 27.0.
  • The phone gets the coordinator board, one-click answers, the Saved draft pill, mentions of remote sessions and the quiet reconnect line.

📄 Pages

  • Text you type in a page is never lost, even when you quit Ghostex, reload the page or the Ghostex server restarts.
  • Tooltips inside pages are frosted glass instead of solid black or white.
  • The page window stops at its ends instead of showing grey when you scroll past them, and blurs the wallpaper by the same amount every time.

🎫 Work mode

  • A workspace's ticket command can be its primary tracker, with its open tickets on the Work list, picked with ghostex issues tracker <id>, thanks to @lardissone (#411).
  • Link a session to a ticket command's tickets by hand with ghostex link-session --ticket, or Link to on the Work page, thanks to @lardissone (#414).

🩹 Fixes and polish

  • macOS: dead keys compose in terminal panes with layouts such as U.S. International, thanks to @sebastianarena (#417).
  • Windows: switching accounts works in a forked Claude session, thanks to @DaveW001 (#415).
  • Create Linear Ticket… shows only where Linear applies, when the workspace picked Linear or a project or workspace Linear key is set.
  • Opening a worker on another computer connects that computer first if only its saved copy is known.
  • A connected workspace's GitHub sign-in counts only when it holds a token, and Settings says when its sign-in needs redoing.
  • The Ghostex server ends session keepers left behind by a deleted Ghostex server when it starts.
  • Resources' row buttons line up, so orphaned rows' × sits under the session rows' ×.

Windows beta packages are not Authenticode-signed and may show a SmartScreen warning.
