3.12.1
Guests are asked to sign in before checkout when the cart does not allow guest checkout, as Magento does natively. With a downloadable product in the bag and catalog/downloadable/disable_guest_checkout on (the default), "Proceed to checkout" on the cart page and in the mini-cart used to navigate to /checkout, which bounced straight back to the cart. Both now read isGuestCheckoutAllowed from the cart customer-data section and, for a guest, lead to the sign-in page with a referer back to checkout, encoded the way Magento's URL encoder does. The mini-cart takes a new optional signInUrl prop; without it, and on the cart page without data-sign-in-url, the buttons keep linking to checkout.
3.12.0
Declares PHP 8.3 as its floor, the same one mage-obsidian/module-modern-frontend 2.20.0 requires. The package itself had no PHP constraint, so Composer only learned the floor through the framework; now a store on an older PHP is refused by this package directly, at install time. No code changes.

Puts the obsidian-checkout private section in flight from , so the checkout no longer waits for the island graph to mount before asking for it, and reserves the island height in a class the critical CSS can carry, which takes the page's layout shift to zero.
