Nova 0.9.0
Bring your own models and coding agents - from any company - and ask Nova to build things for you.
New
- Say "build me a notes app" and your coding agent builds it in a new folder of its own, then tells you when it's ready. "Fix the failing tests in my-site" works on that project.
- Connect any AI service you have a key for. Pick one from the list - Kimi, GLM, Qwen, MiniMax, DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and more - or add any other by its address. Models running on your Mac work too.
- Add any coding agent you use: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Kimi Code, Qwen Code, Goose, Aider, or a program of your own. Nova works with any agent that speaks the Agent Client Protocol, an open standard many agents use.
- Each agent can use its own sign-in, or one of the models you connected.
- Agents that aren't on your Mac yet can be installed with one click. The install runs in a Terminal window you can see, and Nova notices when it's done.
- Test any agent with one click: Nova gives it a small job in a test folder and tells you if it worked.
- A new "Who does what" page: choose who answers your questions, who builds things, and who works in the background while you're away.
- Work you hand over while you're away can now be done by a model you connected, not only by an agent.
- Share your agents with friends as a file. Agents someone shares with you arrive switched off, and Nova shows you exactly what each one runs before you turn it on.
Changed
- No agent is set up on its own any more: you add the ones you want.
- With nothing chosen, the first model you connected answers your questions.
- Settings → Models replaces API connections and Local models, and shows only what you added.
- The first-run walkthrough now helps you connect a model, add an agent and choose who does what.
- The privacy page says where each model and agent sends your work.
Fixed
- "Build me a notes app" no longer opens the Notes app.
- Your iPhone now learns your Mac's Tailscale address as soon as Tailscale comes on, so it can reach Nova when you're away from home. Settings → iPhone tells you if your phone doesn't know it yet.
