ASDS v2.1.0 — Atomic package builder, DAG status projection and execution consumer hardening

Added

  • Atomic Planning Package Builder (scripts/build-package.mjs & lib/package-builder.mjs): Deterministic generator that scaffolds proposal.md, design.md, specs/<capability>/spec.md, tasks/task-<id>.md, tasks.md with computed wave declarations, and planning-manifest.json with exact SHA-256 reference hashes, projectionSourceDigest, and taskManager DAG projection in a single atomic pass (--candidate or --self-review).
  • Deterministic DAG Status View (lib/dag-status-view.mjs & scripts/validate.mjs --print-dag): Markdown formatter for planning and runtime wave projections, parallel vs. sequential wave classification, ready/blocked/completed task counts, and execution status tables.
  • Candidate Lifecycle Validation (scripts/validate.mjs --change DIR --candidate): Pre-review structural validation mode for draft, reviewing, and blocked candidate packages before independent or self-review completion.
  • Installed Runtime Drift Sync (scripts/sync-installed.mjs): Explicit synchronization and verification helper for global (~/.gemini/config/skills, ~/.agents/skills) and project-scoped ASDS skill installations.

Changed

  • Planning Skill & Reviewer Contract Hardening (skills/spec-driven-superpowers/SKILL.md, adapters/*/agents/spec-driven-superpowers*.md, lib/validation.mjs):
    • Documented mandatory build-package.mjs scaffolding workflow, --candidate pre-review validation, and --print-dag output requirement.
    • Aligned readiness validation so open decisions on downstream tasks blocked by a declared blocker do not falsely reject partial or blocked package delivery.
    • Expanded reviewPolicy.domains validation to accept domain-descriptive strings while enforcing protected-domain independent-review invariants.
  • Execution Consumer & Cross-Platform Hardening (skills/asds-execution-consumer/, lib/, tests/):
    • Synchronized asdsVersion (2.1.0) across package.json, lib/install.mjs, lib/execution-handoff.mjs, and adapter projections.
    • Hardened macOS and Windows path canonicalization (realpathSync.native), Windows directory/file handle semantics in task-index-progress.mjs and agy-review-supervisor.mjs, .gitattributes LF normalization, and Windows stat.mode handling in installer and tests.

Fixed

  • Eliminated manual multi-pass hash and wave drift during planning package authoring.
  • Resolved macOS (/private/var/folders) and Windows (RUNNER~1, O_DIRECTORY, CRLF, and 0o666 stat mode) CI test portability issues.

ASDS v2.0.0 — Self-contained reviewed planning

Product boundary

ASDS v2.0.0 is a self-contained planning product. It combines OpenSpec traceability and adapted Superpowers practices to deliver a reviewed, persisted implementation plan. A caller-selected consumer owns later implementation, code review and software integration.

Planning model

  • Adds recursive composition while keeping composition separate from the precedence DAG.
  • Makes tasks.md the canonical ordered inventory and validates every task contract against it.
  • Adds requirements/scenario/decision coverage, owners, blocker routing, reverse edges, prerequisite outputs, waves, safe peers and serializesWith conflicts.
  • Emits a deterministic neutral task-manager projection usable by simple queues or future Plane/Linear adapters.
  • Preserves task IDs and rejects stale projections, duplicate routes, unrelated decision targets and artificial dependency shortcuts.

Review, lifecycle and persistence

  • Binds fidelity and quality reviews to immutable candidate/source/task inventories.
  • Requires current reviews in order and rejects material open findings.
  • Requires durable readback before C15/C16 and delivery; declared prose alone is insufficient.
  • Supports delivered, partial, blocked, cancelled and superseded planning without claiming future implementation completion.
  • Preserves the previous coherent package across ordinary publication failures and removes transient write files.

Distribution and compatibility

  • Ships canonical ASDS, OpenSpec and adapted Superpowers skills, schema, templates, validators, installer and provenance in this repository.
  • Keeps legacy orchestration and code-delivery APIs only as explicit consumer utilities.
  • Retains the Accelerate wire-v1 intake and adds planning-return contracts.
  • Distinguishes OpenSpec missing from PATH from the pinned executable available in the ASDS checkout.
  • Installer updates remain preview-first and fail closed; no backup or parallel runtime is created.

Verification

  • Independent Gemini 3.1 Pro High reviews: PASS, including a focused review of final cross-platform CI corrections.
  • npm test: PASS, 298 tests.
  • npm run check: PASS.
  • npm run validate: PASS.
  • Accelerate producer -> ASDS receiver check: PASS.
  • GitHub Actions: PASS on Ubuntu Node 20.19/22/24, macOS Node 24 and Windows Node 24.
  • Credential scan over staged source and experiment evidence: no findings.
  • git diff --check: PASS.

Limits

This is a source publication, not a global installation or project activation. It does not initialize OpenSpec, implement generated tasks, or provide provider-specific Plane/Linear write connectors. Historical experiments are bounded evidence, not universal model certification.

Tracking: issue #5, PR #6.

ASDS v1.2.0

ASDS 1.2.0 — portable coordination and operational continuity

The prior workflow could stop after one task, globally reject a valid graph containing future unresolved work, or lose received approvals. This candidate adds partial readiness, operation-scoped blockers, explicit continuation/pause, source-bound existing-plan intake and revision-bound approval evidence. A host bridge reserves work before release and rejects stale, paused or cancelled assignments.

Validation: local Node suite and syntax/package checks; independent source reviews corrected reproduced races; real Accelerate v1 producer/consumer compatibility; bounded natural-entry Codex/Agy CLI cases with actual file effects and status/resumption evidence.

Qualification limits: Agy risk analysis reopened a settled zero-boundary rule, including after a documentation clarification; that gate is partial. No general provider, scheduler, cross-process or natural-entry guarantee is made. CI passed on Ubuntu with Node 20.19, 22 and 24, and on Windows/macOS with Node 24 (run 37099213009). POSIX-only fixtures are explicitly skipped on Windows; actual Node discovery is covered by a portable test. CI exposed a CRLF fixture issue, corrected before merge.

Existing owned Codex/Agy skill installations were updated without a new runtime, backup or auth configuration change. Optional tracker/dashboard integrations remain phase 2. Published from merged commit 78b84b910c42f54a912adfbb5f70aab3dab254ea through PR #4. Candidate wording and hashes in repository qualification documents preserve the historical pre-publication evidence. GitHub source archives are the distribution; no npm publication or additional runtime installation is included.

ASDS v1.1.1

@marcelokarval marcelokarval released this 02 Oct 18:33
ba40c13

ASDS now keeps discovery within the accepted project and necessary references, requires a concrete reason before expanding reads, and reports environment checks separately from project execution. The Accelerate v1 handoff remains compatible.

The installer adds explicit --update for unchanged manifest-owned skill files, with conflict checks and in-memory rollback of ordinary failures. No automatic backups, alternate runtimes or global rule replacement.

Validation: 64 local tests; Linux Node20.19/22/24, macOS24 and Windows24 CI; independent source and live-probe review. Fresh Codex/Agy native entry probes preserved read scope and asked before OpenSpec creation without an extra user read-boundary instruction. Ordinary questions stayed direct. Installed native payloads matched90/90 planned files in each destination.

The earlier contaminated Agy probe and its restricted repeat remain historical evidence. These bounded tests do not establish universal model compliance or filesystem confinement. Shared user-payload changes require separate manifest reconciliation; update rollback is not crash recovery.

Detailed report: docs/reviews/release-1.1.1.md. Sanitized evidence is attached and included in the source tree.

ASDS v1.1.0

@marcelokarval marcelokarval released this 02 Oct 03:34
d5fcfc4

ASDS 1.1.0 separates global skill availability from project activation and receives Accelerate's v1 handoff while preserving authorization, refusal and workflow ownership.

The release consolidates portable installation, incremental understanding, a single task index with ready microcontracts, and distinct Git-verified delivery/integration revisions. Windows Git path and fixture compatibility were corrected during the release matrix.

Validation includes 57 local tests, actual Accelerate producer/ASDS receiver compatibility, independent source and correction reviews, and a fresh Codex engineering-intake session followed by actual resumption. GitHub's matrix covers Linux on Node 20.19/22/24 plus macOS and Windows on Node 24. Platform-specific symlink and Bash tests are skipped on Windows; those paths are exercised on Unix runners.

The current user's installed skill/schema payload was verified identical to the source's 90-file installation plan, including its manifest. Publication does not install or activate ASDS for other users/projects.

Compatibility: existing active task contracts need explicit readiness and integration evidence for the stricter validators. Archived records are not automatically rewritten. The additive installer rejects conflicting files rather than silently upgrading them.

Limits: fresh model verification used explicit skill selection and a read-only understanding task. It does not certify unprompted discovery, engineering execution, every model or every harness. Deterministic contract tests do not authenticate review evidence.

See CHANGELOG.md and docs/reviews/release-validation-2026-10-02.md for details.

Evaluation scope correction (2026-10-02): the owner uses Codex and Agy CLI through subscription access. Earlier Gemini/Claude Code probes were selected in error and are outside this scope; their authentication results are not pending setup requirements for this workflow. Agy subsequently returned a successful bounded decision response using its existing configuration. This is supplied-context semantic evidence, not native skill discovery or full implementation qualification. See the attached asds-evaluation-correction-2026-10-02.json.
