build-73. Network protocol 41.

This is testing 73 on the main line.

Protected Custom Edition maps load. A light the window cannot show is dropped. In co-op, a scripted move that misses the floor puts the player back, and a teleport checks the floor at the unit's middle. With enhanced animations on, an airborne player turns with the aim. The host's START NOW starts the match.

Lens flares and lights stay visible on AMD. Nav markers move with the picture. Linux and Windows can play 5.1 surround when audio.channels is 5.1 or auto. Mac stays stereo. An update with more files than the updater can install is refused.

On Linux, a disc prompt that cannot be shown stops, and a crash is reported from startup. On Linux and Windows, the mouse still locks when relative mode is unavailable. Windows borderless mode stays out of exclusive fullscreen. Saving settings keeps the window mode chosen with F11. A frame the graphics driver holds for seconds is written to the log.

A vehicle that lands on its side or its roof throws its riders. The machine running the game does this for its own vehicle, and again when it copies a client's roll, so the rider stays out of the seat. A vehicle that has just thrown its riders no longer plays its opening animation when it is on its side or its roof and on the ground, so it does not swing. On a network client, this machine keeps its own copy of that vehicle until the host has it at rest and the player is out.

A map whose scripts set rider_ejection owns that switch. The throw follows the live value, so a map can turn it off for a stretch and back on. A map that never sets it still throws, and a console cheat cannot turn that off. The host ignores an ejection notice while the value is false. A co-op client does not run the map's scripts, so it does not throw on its own when the map owns the switch. The host's seat takes the rider out only when the map left the throw on.

The host's name is white in the in-game chat. Other names keep their team colors, and the message stays pale blue.

Settings has Mods. Server Setup, and the Hardcore server page, can set MODS to ALLOWED or NOT ALLOWED. NOT ALLOWED makes the host and every client play the map's own tags for that game. A machine that does not answer within 5 seconds is dropped. A game that allows mods still takes an older client.

Training pads, respawn areas, and the match timer recordings are text and sound files the build compiles. Starting a match with training mode and the match timer no longer closes the game when a detail object's ground plane is not a real number.

The server browser lists dedicated servers from OpenCE's master servers, with the dedicated mark. Joining one uses the invite in that listing. The list is kept only when the master's pinned key signed it. A masters.txt file next to config.toml can name other masters. A file that names none leaves the official master.

Joining a game on a Custom Edition map this machine does not have asks the host for that map. The host sends it when SHARE MAPS is on. A saved download switch that is off no longer stops the ask.

A draw whose texture stage is set to sample, with no texture bound, draws that stage black. It no longer closes the game.

Mac: open OpenCE-macos-arm64.dmg and drag OpenCE into Applications. This build is for Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later. The app is ad hoc signed. If macOS blocks the first open, allow it in System Settings under Privacy and Security.

Windows: unzip halo-windows-release.zip and run halo.exe.

Linux: unzip halo-linux-release.zip and run halo.

Bring your own copy of the game. The download has no game data.

A copy already on main build 69 offers it the next time it starts. A testing build leaves it alone.
