Is it possible to switch the MATLAB help documentation to the offline/local documentation included with the MATLAB desktop version?

Currently, I am trying to deploy the MATLAB Proxy in a local area network. I have successfully accessed MATLAB Online via a web browser. However, when I open the Help documentation, the page shows that www.mathworks.com took too long to respond. My test device is within the LAN and indeed has no access to the internet.

In the MATLAB Online interface (via the web browser), under the "Preferences" settings, I cannot find an option to set the Help documentation to use the local version, as is available in the desktop version of MATLAB.

How can I resolve this issue?

You would need to set MATLAB up to use a local version of the documentation.

Please refer to Install Documentation on Permanently Offline Computers, specifically the section related to Configure MATLAB to Use Installed Documentation

Thank you for your assistance, but the suggestions you provided do not resolve the issue I’m encountering.

On my local ​​Windows Server 2016​​ system, I have installed ​​MATLAB R2021b​​. When I launch the ​​desktop version of MATLAB directly on the local machine​​, I can switch the Help documentation to the local version via the dialog box that appears when clicking the preferences button. The desktop MATLAB can successfully open and display the Help documentation.

However, when I access the desktop MATLAB through ​​MATLAB Proxy in a web browser​​, the Help documentation attempts to connect to www.mathworks.com instead. In the browser interface, I ​​cannot find the same option​​ (as in the desktop version) to switch the Help documentation to the local version via the preferences button’s dialog box.

I kindly request your further analysis to help resolve this issue.

Apologies for the delayed response.

Upon more investigation, the earliest release of MATLAB that supports this capability is MATLAB R2023a.
Unfortunately, there are no workarounds that I could find for older releases.
