First PyPI release of community-agent-framework-postgres, a community-maintained PostgreSQL persistence package for Microsoft Agent Framework.

Included

  • Chat history providers and AgentSession snapshots.
  • Workflow checkpoints and optional AG-UI thread snapshots.
  • Renewable leases for coordinating work across replicas.
  • A shared connection pool, numbered schema migrations, retention policies, and an administration CLI.
  • Optional Microsoft Entra ID authentication for Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

Status

Alpha. Public APIs may change in 0.x minor releases. The documented test targets are Python 3.11 through 3.14 and PostgreSQL 16 and 17. Live Azure authentication has not yet been validated.

Getting started

Install with pip install community-agent-framework-postgres. Add the ag-ui or azure extra for those integrations.

Use an existing PostgreSQL database and call await hub.migrate() before using the stores.
