What's new

  • Targeted extraction with --start / --end — Extract subtitles from a specific time range without reading the entire file. libpgs seeks directly to the target byte offset, making extraction from large files significantly faster when you only need a portion. Timestamps accept HH:MM:SS.ms, MM:SS.ms, SS.ms, or plain seconds (e.g. 300). Works with both .sup files and containers, and composes with --first N to limit results within the range.

    # Subtitles from 5 minutes onward:
    python -m proofpgs movie.mkv --start 0:05:00

    # 5-minute window, first 10 subtitles:
    python -m proofpgs movie.mkv --start 1:30:00 --end 1:35:00 --first 10
