QUADRO 1.0
QUADRO 1.0
A four-section performance synthesizer for the M-VAVE FM-1, after the ARP Quadra. First release.
What's in it
- Four sections at once: bass (electric and string), string ensemble with three-phase chorus, poly synth (or paraphonic, like the original) and a two-oscillator lead, across a split keyboard
- Phaser, reverb and delay: a 14-stage phase shifter on any section, plus a reverb and a ping-pong delay that follows MIDI clock
- One-finger chords: nine chord shapes from a single key, with the root on the bass (CH BASS)
- Sequencer: up, up/down, down or random over held keys, 1–3 octaves; syncs to MIDI clock (1/4 to 1/32, with triplets) and can send clock
- Pressure: the FM-1's pressure-sensitive keys bend the lead or open its filter, with adjustable sensitivity
- 68 programs: classics, paraphonic, sequences, chords, one-finger band sounds and tricks from the original
- MIDI in and out over USB, Bluetooth and TRS: notes, bend, mod wheel, sustain, CC 74, pressure, program change, clock
- Tuned for the FM-1: the bass sits an octave up for the built-in speaker (BASS OCTAVE −1 for the original register on headphones), and runs on both cores
Install
Download quadro-1.0.fwsc below, connect the FM-1 by USB, then run:
python3 fm1_install.py quadro-1.0.fwsc
fm1_install.py is in fm1-base's tools/ folder (https://github.com/charlesvestal/fm1-base). The installer can also restore M-VAVE's original firmware. Install at your own risk.
