v0.13.0 — Your dashboard, your language
Codexometer v0.13.0 — Your dashboard, your language
Highlights
- Nine interface languages: UK English, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
- English stays exactly as it was. UK English remains the default, with the existing wording, colours, spacing and hotkeys preserved. A 105-screen regression baseline protects its presentation.
- Opt-in language selection: set
CODEXOMETER_LANGusing standard BCP 47 language codes. Regional variants such asfr-CA,de-DE,ja-JPandzh-CNmatch supported languages. Unset, invalid or unsupported values fall back to English. - Responsive translated controls: terminal-cell-aware layout and mouse targets accommodate accented text and Japanese/Chinese characters. Quota-window labels use locale-aware plural rules; API-EQ estimate labels include translated confidence levels.
- Still a standalone binary: translations are embedded; no language-pack downloads or runtime dependencies. Existing hotkeys remain unchanged.
Upgrade
Quit any running Codexometer instance, then rerun the release installer. Go is not required. Keep the same installation directory as before to avoid duplicate binaries on your PATH.
macOS / Linux
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/merefield/codexometer/main/install-release.sh | sh
codexometer --versionThe default destination is /usr/local/bin. For a per-user installation, use the same command with your existing directory:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/merefield/codexometer/main/install-release.sh | \
CODEXOMETER_BIN_DIR="$HOME/.local/bin" shEnsure that directory is on PATH. To pin this release, also set CODEXOMETER_VERSION=v0.13.0 before sh.
Windows PowerShell
$installer = Join-Path ([IO.Path]::GetTempPath()) "install-codexometer.ps1"
Invoke-WebRequest https://raw.githubusercontent.com/merefield/codexometer/main/install-release.ps1 -OutFile $installer
Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process Bypass -Force
& $installer -Version v0.13.0
Remove-Item $installer
codexometer --versionThe default directory is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\codexometer\bin; ensure it is on PATH. The execution-policy override applies only to this PowerShell process. Both installers verify the downloaded checksum and binary version. You can inspect the scripts before running them, or download the archives and checksums.txt below directly.
For an existing Go installation: go install github.com/merefield/codexometer@v0.13.0 (Go 1.26.6 or later). Ensure $(go env GOPATH)/bin, or your custom GOBIN, is on PATH.
Try a different language
On macOS / Linux, choose a language for one launch:
CODEXOMETER_LANG=fr codexometer
CODEXOMETER_LANG=ja codexometer --demo
CODEXOMETER_LANG=zh-Hans codexometerSupported codes: en-GB, nl, de, fr, it, es, ru, ja, zh-Hans.
To retain your choice, add export CODEXOMETER_LANG=de to ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc, then open a new terminal. Fish users can run set -Ux CODEXOMETER_LANG de.
In Windows PowerShell:
# Use French in the current terminal:
$env:CODEXOMETER_LANG = 'fr'
codexometer
# Retain French for future terminal sessions:
[Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('CODEXOMETER_LANG', 'fr', 'User')In cmd, use set CODEXOMETER_LANG=fr for the current terminal or setx CODEXOMETER_LANG fr for future terminals. Restart Windows Terminal if necessary. Configure WSL separately using the Linux instructions.
Language is selected at startup: restart Codexometer after changing it. Set en-GB or remove the variable to restore English. LANG and LC_ALL do not select the interface language.
These are initial UI translations; native-language corrections are welcome. Model/theme names, benchmark prompts and responses remain unchanged. CLI help and raw diagnostics remain English; compact restart-reason and L/M confidence codes remain canonical. API-equivalent prices remain USD.
