Frequent sign-in requests - although I am signed in #4049

Scenario:

I use VS Code with GHPRI on Windows and MacOS.

I have Settings Sync turned on.

I am logged on to GitHub, to our GitHub Enterprise and to Microsoft.

GHPRI shows up in the "Manage Trusted Extensions" list only for GitHub.
Every few minutes, I get a pop-up:
When clicking "Allow", I get an authentication request in my browser, and I accept it.
Nevertheless, the Pop-up comes up every some minutes, the frequency seems to increase when I have more than one instance of VS Code running.
When I turn off the "Settings Sync", the pop-up frequency seems to drop.
How can I get rid of these pop-ups?
