Bots work on several threads at once. One bot can now run as many conversations side by side as its machine has room for, and teams get plainer words and clearer limits.

  • Parallel threads: on a MausBot Cloud, memory decides how many run at once, and a turn past that says "Waiting for memory" and starts by itself. On your own computer it's one thread per 2 GB of memory, from 3 to 16. Starter Clouds run one thread per bot at a time, and a bot's own hand-offs never wait behind it.
  • Who said what: every line a bot reads now says who sent it and whether it's a request or just information, so a relayed "yes" can't answer a question meant for someone else.
  • Teams: "Looked after by", two simple sharing choices, one inbox list, and refusals that name who can share a bot. A team export now leaves out members' private chats.
  • You menu: shows the address you're signed in with, and has Sign out.
  • Threads from outside work: a thread opened by work that came in from outside now stays with that work.
  • Also: a bot can open a thread on itself on another model, social post previews with local videos, a Google Gemini preset, hiding providers you don't use, and fixes for local VMs, Windows and input methods.

Known issues, fixed next: signing out from this computer's page can leave a Cloud's session in the window, so don't rely on it to clear a shared computer yet. A My Cloud you added by hand can stay on the rail after sign-out. And with a team or a second Cloud, the You menu can show no address right after sign-in until you restart.

Lighter and quieter. A workspace with unread bots no longer burns CPU while nothing is happening, the app loads about a third less code at launch, and the server sleeps when nothing is due.

  • Quiet when idle: unread mascots hold still, and the server stops waking up several times a second.
  • Loads less: only your language loads, the rail is its own small page, and the panels you rarely open load when you open them. A screen's first open can take a moment longer, up to about a second on a Cloud page right after it starts.
  • Fewer redraws and writes: long chats reopen faster, messages stop redrawing when something unrelated changes, and the server writes to disk far less while a bot works.
  • Small servers: idle engines close sooner on machines with 1.5 GB of memory or less, and Node's memory limit follows the machine's.
  • Local models: tool calls work even when they arrive as text, a model that loops gets stopped, Ollama gets a big enough context window, and bots on local models get the short tool list.

Very long chats still use a lot of memory when scrolled to the top. That's next.

0.1.137: fixes the blank window

  • Blank window fixed. After updating to 0.1.136, a window whose Cloud hadn't updated yet could show only the rail of places and an empty page. The app now keeps the piece that older Cloud pages still ask for, so they open normally whichever version the Cloud is on.
  • Updates: a failed update check counts once, and its notice stays up during the quiet hourly checks.
  • Goals: a one-on-one goal whose turn keeps losing its slot now stops as blocked instead of retrying forever.
  • Shared workspaces: MausBot's notification tools now refuse on any shared workspace, not only a Team Cloud.
  • Release reliability: the Mac build runs on macos-15 and retries stapling.

  • MausBot's notification tools refuse on any shared workspace, not only a Team Cloud by @c-dreamer in #3961

What's new in 0.1.136

New

  • What's new, in one popup. Once after this update: the new MausBot Cloud, and Team mode's shared bots. Each card has a button to try it.

  • Share a bot with your team, bot by bot. From a bot's Share button, choose who can view it, chat with it or edit it. A teammate without access can ask for it in one tap.

  • Everything in your language. Run and routine notices, connect prompts, notifications, room lines, and teammates' hand-offs and results now come in each person's language.

  • Faster first answers on long conversations. A long conversation is summarized while it sits idle, so your next message gets an answer sooner.

  • Bug reports you can follow. After you report something with @devs, you can see where it stands, and you're told once when it's fixed.

  • Your bots in two places. When some bots live on this computer and others on your server or Cloud, MausBot offers to bring them together. A bot can say where another bot lives and how to reach it.

  • A title bar that says where you are. The window's top bar shows the place you're in, with the update arrow and Settings at its right. The bar, the rail of places and the sidebar share one colour taken from the app's own, and your chat sits in a rounded card beside them.

  • Crisper places. The rail's square tiles are even on every side, and the selected place is marked at the rail's edge.

  • Prefer the classic look? Settings → Appearance → Window frame turns the new frame off.

Easier

  • Drag the sidebar to its avatars. Drag the chat sidebar's edge narrow and it folds to avatars; drag it wider and it opens back. The collapse button and the Sidebar density setting are gone.

  • Just do it means just do it. In Just do it mode, a bot doesn't stop to ask you along the way, and a question it does ask never goes stale.

  • Your message never waits. A message you send isn't held up behind a long tool call.

  • People before bots. In a shared workspace, @name reaches the person with that name, even when a bot has a similar name.

  • Connected apps first. When an app you've connected can do the job, your bot uses it before opening a browser or your screen.

  • Teammates and their Chief, in step. When a teammate stops on a question, the Chief's reply answers it and the work carries on. A correction from the Chief reaches a teammate's job while it runs, and the Chief can send to a thread it opened earlier.

  • Every thread gets the bot's settings. A bot's Claude settings (hooks, plugins, permissions) apply in every one of its threads, and its threads move to its working folder once it has one. Bot instructions can be up to 4,000 characters.

Fixes

  • MCP servers. Test in Settings reaches a server the same way your bots do. A server you save turned off says so, and its switch doesn't flip straight back.
  • App tools. A bot's call to an app fits what the app expects, and a refused call says how to try again.
  • Research tools are offered only where research works.
  • Team members are never told to ask an admin when they are the owner.
  • Hooks fire from inside the bot box on a Cloud.
  • Unread messages: the "new messages" marker ends before your next message.
  • Cards beside the rail. Notices, the update card and the Cloud setup card at the bottom left no longer slide under the rail of places.
  • The window frame on an older Cloud page. The traffic lights move into the top bar only when the page beside the rail draws it.
  • Kimi on a Cloud. Install Kimi and sign in from Settings; no terminal needed.
  • Settings from the app menu opens on a remote server's page too.
  • Rooms. A room turn waits for a running tool instead of stopping at its limit.
  • Pinned pages. A page that refuses to be framed says so, with Open in browser.
  • Lent computers. An update keeps the terminal a Cloud had, and a room bot can ask for it. A command on a lent computer returns its output when it hits its limit, and may run up to 15 minutes.
  • Cursor. The model picker lists every model the session offers.
  • Steadier tests.

  • A server of your own can be your bots' home. Right-click your server in the strip of places and choose Make it my home. This computer's bots, chats, memory and routines move there, and the computer then works for it by itself.
  • Your language, more of the time. Bots write every line you see in the language you use with them, including a short note between steps and a message they pass on for you. Bug-report replies come in your language too.
  • Cloud bots can run commands on this computer, when you turn it on from the menu-bar icon.
  • A bot edits a lent file precisely: it changes one passage, adds to the end, or deletes the file.
  • Greenference joins the AI providers.
  • $50 of Boat credit: buy Boat's $100 plan or bigger, tell Boat that MausBot sent you, and they add $50 in credits. You'll see it once, and it stays in Settings → API keys → Boat.

Easier

  • The Simple sidebar. Drag bots into order and into departments, and move bots, group chats and bot threads like any section. Team members who can't move bots don't get the drag.
  • A new window frame: a thin top bar, a thinner strip of places, and the app in a rounded card.
  • Backup AIs in Simple bot settings. They work without a switch.
  • The strip of places. A Cloud that isn't running shows what's wrong, with one button to fix it, and never hangs. Remove a Cloud you don't use from the list.
  • Your own apps in your own work. Apps that each person connects work in work you started: tasks your bots hand to each other, and group chats. Results from your apps stay in a chat only you can see.
  • Tell your Chief once. A preference such as "reminders go to TickTick" is saved once, and every bot follows it, instead of telling each bot.
  • One answer to one question. Two teammates asking a bot the same thing at the same time get one answer.

Fixes

  • Bots can ask you questions on Clouds again. The question tool failed every time on a Cloud.
  • Windows: your PC's apps and screen for your Cloud. When screen control can't start on a Windows PC, MausBot tries again, says why and how to fix it, and a Cloud bot can ask you to turn it on.
  • Usage limits. An AI that hit its limit, or is signed out, is skipped for every new conversation until it's back, and you're told once.
  • Where your usage went. ChatGPT and other models without a listed price now show in "Where it went".
  • Short on memory. When a Cloud runs short on memory, a bot's browser or tool stops first, never the whole workspace. The bot says so in one line and tries again when there's room.
  • When a plan ends. Routines pause instead of running on, and signing out of your AI no longer moves your bots onto trial credit.
  • Rooms. A room turn stops when the bot stops making progress, not after a fixed time. With tool calls off, a room hides a failed step, as a one-to-one chat does.
  • Team plans. Fixes from end-to-end testing: joining, sign-in, and first open for a new member.
  • Smaller fixes:
    • Active automations stay visible across conversations.
    • A room goal whose room is gone can't be saved.
    • The morning brief wakes on the minute.
    • A lent terminal gets your usual command path.
  • Steadier tests.

What's new in 0.1.134

New

  • "Tell me when…" without an AI running. A bot can promise to tell you when something happens, such as a reply arriving, a page changing or a time passing, and then stop. The app watches for it with no AI running and wakes the bot only when it happens. A sleeping Cloud checks in at least every 30 minutes while a wait is open.
  • Saved steps on a Mac. When a bot finishes a computer task on this Mac, it can save the steps. The next time you ask for the same thing, it repeats them in a few seconds with no AI and no usage. If a step fails, the bot does the task the normal way. You can forget saved steps from the reply, or turn this off in Settings → General.
  • Korean joins the app's languages.

Easier

  • Add your own server with one paste. + → Add your own server is now a single box: paste the pairing link from your server's Settings → Remote access and press Connect.
  • A smaller computers strip that you can hide. The circles on the window's left edge are smaller. A button at the top of the sidebar hides or shows them, and so does a switch in Settings.
  • Sidebar colour and picture are easier to find in Simple mode: they now sit in General → Appearance, right after Theme.
  • A move to My Cloud that needs you shows in the account area at the bottom left, with Try again, instead of a strip across every page.
  • Plain words throughout. The app says MausBot everywhere and has dropped jargon like VM, engine and ctx. Error messages now say what to do next.

Fixes

  • Fewer Cloud wakes. A hidden or minimized app no longer wakes a sleeping Cloud with background requests, and the Cloud records what woke it.
  • Linux: installing on Ubuntu 22.04 with a newer kernel no longer fails on the optional AppArmor policy.
  • Calendar: automation cards in the Week and Day views fit their height, so their second line is no longer cut off.
  • Sidebar: an open folder whose conversations are all older than the short list now offers Show all, and a Cloud's sidebar is plain, with no night sky or stars.
  • Steadier tests on main.

What's Changed

Other changes

  • A smaller computers strip you can hide, and the sidebar's colour and picture in Simple's General settings by @milind-soni in #3861
  • The move to My Cloud warns in the account area, with Try again, instead of a strip over the page by @aivsomkar in #3866
  • Plain words: MausBot everywhere, no em dashes, no VM, engine or ctx, and errors that say what to do by @aivsomkar in #3865
  • fix(calendar): automation cards fit their height by @jagtapazad in #3863
  • feat(i18n): add Korean locale by @Blue-B in #3852

  • feat(saved-steps): a bot repeats a computer task it has done before, with no AI by @aivsomkar in #3762
  • Fewer Cloud wakes, stage 1: apps stop reaching a sleeping home, and the home says what woke it by @milind-soni in #3872
  • test(chat-tools): the redaction test's credential can't collide with random ids by @milind-soni in #3877
  • + → Add your own server: one box to paste its pairing link, no install commands by @milind-soni in #3879
  • fix(linux): skip the optional AppArmor 4 policy only on unrestricted hosts by @santhiprakash in #3876
  • fix(sidebar): an open folder with older threads offers Show all instead of looking empty by @balabommablock-cpu in #3829
  • A Cloud's sidebar is plain: no night sky or stars by @milind-soni in #3880
  • main is green again: the room delete wording moves out of Sidebar.tsx by @milind-soni in #3881

What's new in 0.1.133

Fixes you'll notice

  • OpenRouter and other API-key models work again on Windows. Every turn there failed with "MCP tool count exceeds the 128-tool limit". The built-in tools now fit.
  • Saved Low, Medium and High Gemini Flash picks run again on Google Gemini (Antigravity), instead of failing every turn with "did not switch".
  • A slow local model gets to finish its answer. Each server under More servers has a Wait choice, from 5 to 60 minutes, so a local model on a slower computer is no longer cut off at 3. A server that has stopped responding ends the wait early.

Easier answers

  • A decision a bot asks you is a tap-to-answer card. When a question has set answers, they're buttons you tap. Questions and approvals share one calm card.

New

  • Postiz in Apps: a new Social category, so bots can draft, schedule and publish social posts.
  • Pinned web panels: keep up to six web dashboards one click away. Add them in Settings → General → Pinned panels; in Advanced mode each gets a row under Tools and opens in place of the chat.
  • Local VM can keep the apps you installed in it when it updates. You turn this on yourself.

And also

  • Local environment settings are translated.
  • In the sidebar, the model's mark sits on the mascot again, clear of a row's hover actions.
  • Steadier tests and a quicker CI on main.

Bots that keep going

  • A usage limit no longer stops your bots. When a bot's AI reaches its usage limit, the bot carries on with another AI you have set up, by itself and for routines too, and goes back once the limit resets. You hear it once per limit, not once per refused turn. Your chosen backups come first. An AI that bills each use, like an API key, takes over only when you chose it as a backup.
  • A stuck engine stops in minutes, not 15. An engine quietly waiting out a usage limit ends its turn after 2 minutes, so another AI can carry on. One showing no sign of life stops after 5.
  • A bot reading its own files never asks you. Its instructions, skills, memory and conversation folders are its own, so unattended routines no longer stall waiting for an approval to read them. Anything else asks as before.
  • A bot's own MCP server is that bot's. On a Cloud, a server a bot built in its own folder starts only for that bot. A server that doesn't start is left out with one notice, instead of failing every turn for every bot.
  • Bots ask for a secret on the secure card. That covers the AI provider keys, the Composio key, or a secret of their own as a one-use reference or a private file, so nobody pastes a key into chat.

Teams

  • MCP servers behind Cloudflare Access work in every chat on a Team Cloud, with each person's own key where they connected one.
  • Organizations on a Team plan (rolling out): the account a Team plan is billed to adds an organization from the rail's +. Each organization has its own Cloud, people and bots, all on the same plan, with no checkout.
  • Fewer "Waiting for memory" holds on smaller Clouds: the memory check counts what engines really use.

Your places

  • Anyone with a Cloud of their own sees the rail, with its + to buy another Cloud.
  • A sidebar colour and picture for everyone, this computer included, in Settings → Appearance. It stays plain until you pick one.
  • Bot-coloured buttons: Send, Allow and the answers a bot is waiting for take the bot's colour, like its chat bubbles.

And also

  • Windows: a bot typing into an app in the foreground lands every character with any keyboard layout, Swiss German included. A click that picks a menu item is no longer reported as failed.
  • Bots carry a smaller list of OpenMausBot's own tools in each turn: compact schemas, and fewer tools where a turn can't use them. A remembered "Always allow" still reaches no further than before.
  • Steadier tests on busy CI machines.

  • fix(approvals): a bot reading its own files never asks, at any level by @milind-soni in #3791
  • A bot's own MCP server starts only for that bot, and one that doesn't start is left out by @milind-soni in #3751

  • A sidebar colour and picture for everyone, this computer included by @milind-soni in #3790

What's new in 0.1.131

Routines and tools that just work

  • Connected apps work the same on every AI. A bot given Gmail or Calendar gets their tools on Claude, Codex, OpenCode and the rest, under the same names (search, read, draft, send emails; list events). Switching a bot's AI no longer quietly breaks its routines. Bots left without their app tools by an older setup are fixed when the app starts.
  • Answer a sign-in request any way you like. When a bot asks you to sign in, saying "done" in the chat counts like pressing Done. The card settles, the bot gets its browser back, and nothing stays waiting under Needs you.

Talk to MausBot from any app (Mac)

  • Hold ⌃⌥Space anywhere, speak, and let go. MausBot answers in a small box at the bottom of the screen while you stay in your app. Click the box to open the Quick asks chat, where every ask lands. Change or turn off the key in Settings → General. Works while this computer is home.

See what your bot is doing

  • A live step line: the bot's current step, how it's going, and a Now card with what it's working on. It also shows in the sidebar.
  • The Activity panel shows a finished tool run without a reload.
  • A turn starts at once, without waiting for the connected-apps list to refresh, so a message you send while a bot works reaches it straight away.

Your places, at a glance

  • A rail on the left shows your places, this computer and your Cloud, each in its own colour, as part of the window. Right-click a circle to change its colour.
  • A banner picture at the top of a workspace's sidebar, shown as a soft gradient. Set it in the workspace settings.
  • This computer works for your Cloud automatically, with nothing to set up. The menu-bar icon shows when your Cloud is using this Mac, with Pause.

A calmer app

  • A one-time look at Simple mode for everyone. Advanced mode now uses Simple's calm palette, menus and buttons.
  • Settings: API keys in plain sections, one row per key.
  • A calm, minimal Cloud plans sheet with a night card, and a faint night sky at the top of a Cloud's sidebar.
  • Avatars can have white or black facial features.
  • A new bot's setup answers follow its name.

Teams

  • The inbox opens like an email inbox, in the right panel: what needs you, what's for your information, and what's done. One live card in the inbox chat keeps count.
  • An inbox item stays listed only while it really waits, and its count shows on the inbox.

My Cloud

  • Cancel trial / Cancel plan, right in the app, on the plan card, with an optional two-question survey. Your Cloud runs to the end of what you paid for, and "Keep my plan" undoes it.
  • Cloud desktops by Boat, our sponsor, are now credited where you get them.
  • Lent screen: says the real reason it's busy, frees stale holds, and lets bots work while you do.

More AIs and tools

  • Your own MCP tools on Claude load when the bot needs them, through Claude Code's tool search, so long tool lists no longer crowd every turn.
  • GitHub Copilot CLI is a built-in engine.
  • AI tools like OpenCode install without Node.js, and are checked before they run.
  • Antigravity shows its effort levels.

And also

  • Obsidian links in chat open in Obsidian.
  • Long model names fit their rows, and the sidebar says Apps once an app is connected.
  • The bot's live browser fills its panel at a desktop's width, resets when it stops answering instead of blaming the bot, and your hold on it ends when you leave.
  • Many reliability fixes: Codex never replays a turn whose tool already ran, Stop during a HighLevel retry sends nothing, phone access ends when revoked, routines drop stale check results, Pi finishes cancels cleanly, Cloud file sync serializes writes, and an "Only for me" connection stays off when its setup fails.
