IDS Workshop desktop 0.1.2
The IDS Workshop as a desktop app. It draws the Sans face from a copy of the composer export inside the app, so editing and drawing in Sans work without a connection. Serif and Kaisho still load from glyphatlas.org, and sharing and problem reports go to https://ids.mkpo.li.
| System | File |
|---|---|
| Windows 10 and 11 | IDS.Workshop_*_x64-setup.exe, or IDS.Workshop_*_x64-portable.zip to run without installing |
| macOS 11 or later (Apple silicon and Intel) | IDS.Workshop_*_universal.dmg |
| Linux | IDS.Workshop_*_amd64.AppImage or IDS.Workshop_*_amd64.deb |
The installers are not signed with a developer certificate.
- Windows: if SmartScreen stops the installer or the program, choose More info, then Run anyway. The portable zip unpacks to a folder; run
IDS Workshop.exethere. It keeps its settings and tabs in adatafolder beside it, so the folder can move to another computer or a USB drive. It needs the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which Windows 11 includes and Windows 10 gets through Windows Update. - macOS: drag the app to Applications and open it. If macOS refuses, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway next to IDS Workshop.
- Linux: make the AppImage executable (
chmod +x) and run it, or install the .deb withsudo apt install ./IDS.Workshop_*_amd64.deb.
