Works without Claude Code or Codex. With neither CLI on the machine (a Docker container, Cursor or Copilot alone, Claude Desktop), your own model does the exploring step itself, in two calls of the tool: first the request, then its reply with the id the first call gave. With a CLI, nothing changes.
Install: npx -y model-salt setup claude (or codex, gemini, kimi). Other clients: https://modelsalt.com/#install
Claude Desktop: download model-salt-1.0.2.mcpb below and open it, or drag it into Settings, Extensions.
