MESH-API v0.7.5.4 Beta — Firmware updater false "update available" fix

A small maintenance release that fixes GitHub #63. No new features, no config or data changes.

🔄 Updater and MCP reported the wrong version

  • The update checker (firmware_updater.py) and the MCP server (mcp_server.py) each carried their own hardcoded 0.7.4.1 that was never bumped in the v0.7.5.x releases. The updater compared that stale value against the latest GitHub release and showed "MESH-API update available" on an install that was already current; MCP serverInfo.version was wrong too.
  • The version now lives in exactly one place: the new version.py (MESH_API_VERSION). The startup banner, the dashboard footer and About panel, the update checker and the MCP server all read it, and the Docker image ships the file.

⬆️ Upgrading

  • Docker: docker compose pull && docker compose up -d (image mrtbot/mesh-api:latest, also tagged v0.7.5.4-beta and 0.7).
  • git: git pull.
  • By hand: copy version.py along with mesh-api.py. Without it the app stops at startup with ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'version'.

Still a beta — please report anything that breaks on GitHub Issues. Thanks to @CarlB86 for the precise report.
