1.0.0 (2026-11-02)

git-loom weaves your feature branches into one integration branch: you work on all of them at once and build them together, while loom commits to, rewrites and pushes each branch on its own. It is plain Git all the way down, so raw Git keeps working alongside it.

1.0 is the stable release: the commands, the loom.* settings and agent mode now follow semantic versioning (what that covers).

Read the 1.0 announcement for the full tour, how the weave engine works, and how git-loom compares with jj and GitButler. Watch it: command line · TUI.

Highlights

  • Work from the CLI, the TUI, or let Claude Code drive it (git loom agent install).
  • Commit, amend, move, split, swap, absorb and drop across branches without leaving the integration branch, down to single hunks with -p.
  • Stacked branches, pushed as one pull request per branch to GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or Gerrit.
  • Short IDs you can say aloud (pop, sun) that survive every rewrite.
  • local- branches that stay in your build and are never pushed.
  • File timestamps kept across rebases, so builds stay incremental.
  • Worktrees, each with its own integration branch.

Install with cargo install git-loom, from Scoop, or with a binary below. Needs Git 2.43 or later.
