First release: prebuilt Tktable 2.12.2, the Tcl/Tk table widget, for pytktable, so that pip install is enough and Tktable doesn't have to be installed separately.
pip install pytktable-binariesWhat's inside
- Tktable 2.12.2, built from the
tktable-2-12-2tag of bohagan1/TkTable. - Each wheel contains two builds, for Tcl/Tk 8.6 and for Tcl/Tk 9.0; Tcl loads the one matching the Tcl/Tk of your Python. They are built with Tcl's stub libraries (from Tcl/Tk 8.6.18 and 9.0.4), so they work with any Tcl/Tk 8.6.x or 9.0.x.
- The libraries don't depend on the Python version: one wheel per platform works with every Python 3.
Platforms
| Platform | Wheel tags |
|---|---|
| Linux with glibc (most distributions) | manylinux_2_28_x86_64, manylinux_2_28_aarch64 |
| Linux with musl (e.g. Alpine) | musllinux_1_2_x86_64, musllinux_1_2_aarch64 |
| macOS 11+, Intel and Apple silicon | macosx_11_0_universal2 |
| Windows | win_amd64, win32, win_arm64 |
All of them were tested by running pytktable's tests (including all its examples) against the installed wheels, with Python 3.11 and 3.14, and with the own Python and Tcl/Tk of Fedora and Alpine.
Usage
tktable_binaries.library_dir() returns the folder that Tcl needs in its auto_path. Until pytktable finds it automatically, point TKTABLE_LIBRARY at it:
import os
import tktable_binaries
os.environ["TKTABLE_LIBRARY"] = str(tktable_binaries.library_dir())This repository was created with the help of Claude (Anthropic), and reviewed by the maintainer, although not always thoroughly. Please report any problem.
