Murmur 1.2.0
A polish release, with a fix for a crash.
Fixed
- Murmur 1.1 could crash a couple of seconds after opening when its window was 960 points wide or narrower. Narrow windows now work, and the window can't be made smaller than its three columns need.
- In the Add Torrent sheet, a long save path no longer pushes "Start downloading right away" out of view.
New
- Sort transfers by name, size, progress, speed, ratio or date added, from the toolbar or View › Sort By.
- Drag transfers to reorder the queue.
- Press Space to preview the selected transfer with Quick Look.
- A Dock menu: what's downloading, Add Magnet Link, Pause All, Resume All and Slow Mode.
- The Add Torrent sheet shows free disk space; the magnet sheet shows trackers and web seeds and tells you when a link is already added.
Polished
- Each row has a pause/resume control that's always visible, and rows that aren't moving no longer show "0 KB/s".
- The per-transfer seeding limit lives in the inspector's Options, which now comes before Details.
- Settings no longer highlight a text field when they open, and limits and steppers line up with the other controls.
Murmur 1.1.0
Download Murmur.dmg. Requires macOS 26 or later. Signed and notarized.
New
- Encrypted connections. BitTorrent protocol encryption (MSE/PE) is on by default, with plaintext fallback. Require it or turn it off in Settings → Network.
- Web seeds. Torrents and magnet links with HTTP mirrors download from them alongside peers.
- Local peer discovery. Finds peers on your own network.
- Per-transfer speed limits in the inspector.
- Slow Mode schedule: turn your alternative limits on automatically, say weekdays 9 to 5.
- Move finished downloads to another folder.
- Extra trackers added to every public torrent, with a one-click list of popular public trackers.
- Quick Look for downloaded files in the inspector.
- Statistics: click the speeds in the status bar for session and all-time totals.
- A Settings button in the menu bar extra.
