Obsidian Mobile

  • Fixed taps on the sidebar, reading/editing toggle, and note menu when the floating toolbar overlaps a note.
  • Kept the paper texture below note content while preserving Obsidian's native toolbar stacking order.

Verification

The Playwright touch regression covers the toolbar, note content, and sidebar backdrop. Native desktop checks passed on Windows with Obsidian 1.13.4 and 1.15.0.

Update

If you installed Eye Safe Writer through Community Themes, update it in Obsidian's appearance settings. For a manual update, replace both manifest.json and theme.css in the theme folder. If you installed the temporary mobile toolbar snippet, disable it after updating.

Stable patch release

Preserves all eight light/dark palettes and existing Style Settings preferences.

Changes

  • Improves semantic, textured-surface and control contrast; removes unintended stacked navigation opacity.
  • Keeps saved Clean links and deliberate focus dimming while making default links identifiable by underlines and Enhanced Contrast consistently readable.
  • Fixes native reading-pane/table overflow, component-local color overrides, dark-palette printing and the Academic mathematics example.
  • Adds reproducible builds, official Obsidian lint/validation, expanded regression tests, genuine native screenshots and sanitized QA evidence.

Install or update

Requires Obsidian 1.13.0+. Download both attached files and place them in .obsidian/themes/Eye Safe Writer/ inside the vault. Replace both files together when updating; saved settings are retained.

Validation and limits

15 automated tests and 160 simulated layout cases pass. Native Windows Obsidian 1.13.4 and 1.15.0 each passed 83 cases, 1,168 HTML/UI measurements and 48 SVG-label checks, including Style Settings, Tasks and actual PDF export. Exact 1.13.0, native mobile and other desktop OSes were not certified. Custom colors, snippets and intentional dimming can reduce contrast; this is not a universal accessibility or medical guarantee.

The gated official release workflow passed with zero errors. Its non-blocking scanner advisories and upstream temporary-tool dependency notices are documented in the audit. The CSS has verified GitHub build provenance.
