Ferry 1.0.0 beta 1
The first public beta of Ferry: a mailbox between your devices, over Tailscale. Send text, links, files and the clipboard from your iPhone to your computers and back; what you send waits on the computer until the device it's for picks it up.
Ferry is free and open source (MIT), made by Nightdrive. More at nightdrive.sh/ferry.
Install
- Mac (macOS 26): download
Ferry-1.0.0-203.dmgbelow, open it and drag Ferry to Applications. It updates itself, and this beta build follows beta updates until 1.0. - Linux: run
It installs Ferry for your user with apt, dnf or pacman, starts its service and publishes it on your tailnet. A beta install follows betas (
curl -fsSL https://github.com/nightdrive-sh/ferry/releases/latest/download/install.sh | bashferry update). - iPhone (iOS 26): through TestFlight during the beta (link on nightdrive.sh/ferry).
Each computer needs Tailscale with HTTPS certificates turned on for your tailnet. Add your phone from a computer's Add Device QR code.
Known issues
- Ubuntu 26.04: its wl-clipboard (2.2.1) doesn't know
--sensitive, so a code or a password that Send Clipboard puts on the computer's clipboard is not marked sensitive there, and a clipboard history may keep it. - Mac with Tailscale from the Mac App Store: not tried yet (the standalone and open-source versions are). If that's yours, please tell us whether Ferry finds it and publishes itself.
