What's new in 1.3.7

Battery of your devices

  • A new Battery section in the menu lists this Mac and every connected device that reports its battery to macOS (mouse, keyboard, headphones). Switch a device on and it gets its own cell on the menu bar: green, orange at 20%, red at 10%.
  • Click the monitor cells to see every device's battery in the details panel.
  • The menu bar cells are now grouped into zones (system · battery · AI) with a thin divider between them.

Claude Code usage stays current

  • Deft now asks your installed Claude Code command-line tool to run /usage in the background, about every five minutes while you're using Claude Code and when you open the details. The numbers no longer go stale until you type /usage yourself. It uses none of your quota, and Deft never sees your sign-in (see PRIVACY.md).

Intel Macs

  • One download now runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs (macOS 13 or later). Intel support is new and hasn't been run on real Intel hardware yet, so reports are very welcome. The temperature cell is expected to be absent on Intel.

Windows Snap

  • Pull a snapped or maximized window away and it becomes a floating window about a fifth of the screen, sized for the display you drop it on.
  • Snapping a window onto a smaller display now fits it to that display instead of leaving it hanging off both sides.

Also

  • The Deft icon keeps its place on the menu bar between launches.
