Double Shot 1.0.7
Your own agents.
- Built your own agent, with LangChain or a script? Go to Settings > AI Agents > Your own agents and type its name, like my_agent.py. Your Mac stays awake for as long as it runs, lid closed too, and sleeps like normal once it ends.
- It finds the agent however you start it: python my_agent.py, uv run, node, python -m, or a binary with that name. Pasting the whole command works too.
- The panel shows your agent by name while it runs.
Double Shot 1.0.6
More fixes from a second round of testing.
- Lid closed setup: the check now reads sudo rules the way sudo does, so a later rule that asks for a password (common on company Macs) no longer shows "ready" when it isn't.
- Claude Code: folders with accented names (made by Finder) are matched to their session logs correctly.
- Codex and Cursor sessions that were already running when Double Shot started (after an update) are now seen.
- Old log writes no longer count as new work after turning agent detection off and on.
- Settings and README wording: macOS sleeps on lid close without an external display, on power too.
Double Shot 1.0.5
- Settings window now shows the tab you're on instead of "Untitled".
Double Shot 1.0.4
Fixes from testing every question under the launch post.
- Codex: every turn of an interactive session now counts as work, not just the first one. Codex keeps its session log open, so Double Shot now checks those files for changes, and the real Codex process is no longer mistaken for a helper.
- Cursor Agent: the
cursor-agentCLI is detected again (it runs on its own bundled node). - Gemini CLI: same helper fix as Codex.
- Claude Code: each session only counts its own log writes, so an idle session no longer looks busy while another one works. A
claude -pstuck on the network stops counting after 20 minutes with no sign of life. - Lid closed setup: the check could say "set up" on admin Macs that only had some other password-free sudo rule, and Low Power Mode then failed quietly. If you see Set up again after updating, enter your password once.
- A failing Low Power Mode call no longer delays putting a closed Mac to sleep.
- README: clearer about what needs the one-time password, what counts as work, and that Cursor support means the CLI.
Double Shot 1.0.3
Fixes from a full QA pass.
- Uses almost no CPU while awake. The cup animation kept drawing with the panel closed (about 14% CPU), now it only runs while the panel is open.
- A sleeping external monitor no longer looks like "lid closed in a bag", so the Mac stays awake at the desk.
- If Double Shot quits or crashes while holding the Mac awake in a bag, the Mac now goes to sleep instead of heating up.
- Agent detection: a running command counts as work (long builds, downloads, docker builds), Claude in Chrome and
claude mcp serveare no longer counted as sessions, better matching for aider and codex. - A
doubleshot://link with a huge number no longer crashes the app. - Clean zip, so browser downloads don't show "damaged".
- Low battery note clears after charging, lid switch stays off until it's set up, Homebrew users get the
brew upgradecommand in the update banner. - Full uninstall steps in the README.
Homebrew: brew upgrade --cask double-shot
Double Shot 1.0.2
What's new
- The coffee in the glass now pours in and drains out smoothly instead of jumping.
- Install with one line:
brew install --cask noahelhadedy/tap/double-shot. It opens right away, no Gatekeeper prompt. - The README shows the app now: a demo, the panel and the welcome window.
Install by hand
- Download
DoubleShot-1.0.2.zipbelow and unzip it. - Move Double Shot to Applications and open it. If you have an older version, quit it first and replace it.

Double Shot 1.0.1
What's new
- A short welcome the first time you open Double Shot. It walks you through everything, one step at a time: open at login, lid closed mode (macOS asks for your password once), and AI agents. Skip anything and turn it on later. See it again from Settings > About.
- When a new version is out, a small note shows up in the panel with a link to download it. Once a day it asks GitHub, nothing about your Mac is sent. Turn it off in Settings > General.

Double Shot 1.0.0
The first version of Double Shot. It keeps your Mac awake for a while, with the lid closed, and for as long as your AI agents are working.
What's in it
- Click the mug in the menu bar for the panel. Drag up on the glass to pour a duration, or pick 15m, 30m, 1h, 2h, 5h or until you turn it off.
- AI agents: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent, Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Amp and Aider. It stays awake while they actually work, and background runs like
claude -pcount until they end. No setup. - Lid closed: keep working with the lid shut after a one-time password prompt. When the work is done it puts the Mac to sleep.
- Safety: stops when the Mac gets hot or the battery is low, turns the dark display off and uses Low Power Mode on battery while closed, and a watchdog turns sleep back on if the app ever crashes.
