Shotbase 1.7.1 (build 19) is a hotfix for editing and playback.

• Restore Space-bar playback after scrubbing or clicking the timeline.
• Keep Space-bar playback working when inspector tabs have focus, while preserving normal text entry.
• Save consistently through Done, Save, and Save and Exit, including custom backgrounds and orientation.
• Make quiet speech easier to see in audio waveforms without changing the audio.

Requires macOS 14 or later. Universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Sparkle provides signed delta updates from builds 18, 17, and 15, with a signed full-ZIP fallback for other supported versions. The build 18 hotfix delta is 2.88 MB, compared with the 161.59 MB full update.

Shotbase 1.6.0 (build 17)

Shotbase 1.6.0 (build 17) replaces the withdrawn build 16. Existing 1.6.0 installations can update to this corrected build without changing the marketing version.

Shotbase 1.6.0 adds reusable presets, screenshot saving to a folder of your choice, and click sounds for recordings—with smoother editing and more predictable exports. Saved screenshot files stay up to date with your edits.

• Save your editor appearance as a preset, share or import presets, and update an existing preset with your latest look.
• Choose a folder for automatic PNG copies of screenshots, and turn saving on or off without losing your chosen folder. Saving visual edits updates the linked image while your editable capture stays in Base.
• Add mouse-click sounds to recordings, with matching audio in preview and export.
• Choose the sound that plays when you take a screenshot.
• Capture the active display immediately, or take a disposable area screenshot and save it to Base only when you want to keep it.
• Customize area-selection tint and opacity, and choose styling for window captures.
• Drag image captures from the tray into other apps, and open the editor directly from capture cards.
