EmuHall 1.0.2

@notyurigagarin notyurigagarin released this 04 Nov 00:56

Covers and game details, done properly.

What's new

  • Game details find the right game. EmuHall looks games up by the name it identifies from the file itself (its RetroAchievements fingerprint, disc serial or game database entry), so dual releases such as HeartGold / SoulSilver and editions such as DualShock Ver. resolve to the right game.
  • More box art. Covers now also come from libretro's thumbnail library, and Game Boy and Game Boy Color games share covers.
  • A backup catalog. When the main game database is unavailable, details come from IGDB instead, and a game the catalog has never seen can still be found.
  • Setup never blocks on artwork. Your library opens as soon as your games are found. If game details can't be fetched, setup says so plainly and you can retry later or upload your own artwork.
  • Upload artwork manually from a game's page when it has no cover; it opens the artwork editor on that game.

Download

  • Windows 10/11 (64-bit): EmuHall-1.0.2-windows-x64-setup.exe installs EmuHall for your account (no
administrator rights) with a Start-menu entry and an uninstaller. Prefer portable? EmuHall-1.0.2-windows-x64.zip:
unzip anywhere and run EmuHall.exe; your library stays beside it.
This preview is not code-signed yet; if Windows SmartScreen warns you, choose More info, then Run anyway.
  • Linux (64-bit, Ubuntu 22.04 or newer and equivalents): EmuHall-1.0.2-linux-x86_64.AppImage runs on any
distribution: make it executable and open it. .deb (Ubuntu, Debian, Mint) and .rpm (Fedora, openSUSE) install
it with a menu entry; EmuHall-1.0.2-linux-x64.tar.gz is a portable folder.
  • Check your download against SHA256SUMS.txt and SHA256SUMS-linux.txt.

A quick fix for first-time setup.

What's fixed

  • Setup never gets stuck on artwork. If covers and game details can't be downloaded, "Open my library" still works: your games are ready, and you can try the download again later. (The game-details service was also fixed on our side, so downloads work again in 1.0.0 too.)
  • Setup credits now thank the teams behind the engines your copy actually includes, and credit PlayStation 2 to the PCSX2 team it builds on.

If 1.0.0 works for you, there's no need to reinstall: your library and saves carry over either way.
