v1.4.1

Choose a tag to compare

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 04 Nov 20:31
  • Light mode is greyer on every page, the Kalshi page too.
  • A moon in the header switches between light and dark in one tap. Settings still has Light, Dark and Match device.
  • Fixed: charts no longer run back over themselves where hourly points meet midnight.
  • Kalshi's open bets each show what they win, and the line under them explains contracts plainly.

v1.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 20:09
  • Crypto gets everything the stock plan has: presets (Default plan, 0.5× aggressive, 2× aggressive) and your own saved ones, and an Invested slider. The rest of the book waits in cash.
  • Crypto "My own": search Coinbase's coins and put them in long-term, trend or momentum blocks. Momentum holds the strongest of a block over 90 days, if they're above their trend line.
  • A saved crypto change trades within the hour, and a coin you take out of your plan is sold.
  • "Test it on past prices" works for crypto too.
  • Crypto has a Self-Tune tab: its monthly check tests small changes on Coinbase's prices since 2017. While self-tune is on, one passing change a quarter is made by itself, and it can be undone.
  • Your own coins aren't shared on the leaderboard. Copying someone goes back to Charles's coins, and Undo brings yours back.

Charles v1.3.1

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 19:40
  • Light mode is a little greyer on every page, the Kalshi page too, and muted text is a touch darker so it stays easy to read.

A fix: it doesn't change how Charles trades.

Charles v1.3.0

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 19:07
  • A new look: one clean typeface, calmer cards, and a soft grey light mode (Dark and Match device are in Settings).
  • Your own plan: on the Plan tab, search any ticker Alpaca trades and put it in a long-term, sector or momentum block, with how much goes in each. Charles's own plan stays the default.
  • Presets: Default plan, 0.5× aggressive and 2× aggressive change only the amounts, never the tickers. Save and name your own.
  • Invested: choose how much of your buying power the plan uses; the rest sits in T-bills.
  • Self-tune has an on/off switch on the Self-Tune tab. While it's on, a change that passed every test of the monthly evaluation can be applied, at most one a quarter, and you can undo it.
  • Live trading for stocks, off by default and locked behind steps: charles-live on asks that you're 18 or older, accept the License Agreement, add your own live Alpaca keys and type LIVE. Crypto and Kalshi stay practice money.
  • The Charles License Agreement: the installer asks you to accept it before installing anything (charles-terms shows it).
  • A plan with your own tickers or money kept aside isn't shared on the leaderboard.
  • Kalshi: every bet must stand to win at least half of what it costs, fees included (at most about 67 cents a contract). Evil Charles now skips the other side of a bet when that side would pay less, and so does your account when it copies him.
  • Kalshi: Charles and Evil Charles place the same bets. Charles bets only where Evil Charles can take the other side and still win at least half his stake.

This release changes how Charles trades (your own plan, self-tune, live mode), so the dashboard asks you to confirm before updating. Settings you changed stay as they are.

Charles v1.2.3

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 04:39

Kalshi

  • The graph always spans at least $250 top to bottom, so a small dip no longer fills the whole chart, and the end of the line shows its amount.

Installs update from the dashboard's Updates card or charles-update.

Charles v1.2.2

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 02:52

Kalshi

  • A copied bet now costs exactly what the bet it copies cost, using part-contracts in the practice books, so Charles, Evil Charles and your account match to the cent until bets finish.

Installs update from the dashboard's Updates card or charles-update. Because the Kalshi betting changed, the update asks you to confirm first.

Charles v1.2.1

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 02:46

Kalshi

  • Bets count at what they cost. A $20 bet takes $20 off your account, and a win puts back the stake plus the profit.
  • When Evil Charles takes the other side, he spends as close to Charles's stake as whole contracts allow, so both bots' values match until bets finish.
  • Each part of the graph's line is blue or red by whose bet moved it. A win from a Charles bet rises in blue even while you follow Evil Charles.
  • The graph starts at your $1,000, and the win rate counts bets won out of bets finished.

Installs update from the dashboard's Updates card or charles-update. Because the Kalshi betting changed, the update asks you to confirm first.

Charles v1.2.0

@nswansonprojects nswansonprojects released this 03 Nov 01:17

Kalshi

  • Charles and Evil Charles now both bet on every scan, each with its own practice $1,000, so each builds its own record.
  • Your account follows the bot you pick. One graph shows your account, blue while it follows Charles and red while it follows Evil Charles.
  • Strategies bet from the first scan, with no waiting period. The weather minimum edge is back to 7¢.

Dashboard

  • The tour, now with Charles talking you through Home and the Leaderboard, starts by itself only on a new install. Settings can replay it.
  • Leaderboard: a Reset button, and a new install's first day says when its chart starts.
  • Plan vs SPY is measured at the same market close everywhere, so after-hours prices no longer skew it.
  • Alerts show the whole message when opened, and old or false alarms clear themselves.

Installs update from the dashboard's Updates card or charles-update. Because the Kalshi betting changed, the update asks you to confirm first.
