Pulsar v0.5.0
Pulsar 0.5.0
This release adds three new taskbar items, lets you turn off the graph on any item, and fills out the details window with chipset, PCIe, power limit and memory timing information.
What's New
New Items: CPU Clock, Drive Temperature and Chipset Temperature
Three more items are available in Settings → Items:
- CPU clock: the current processor speed, as Task Manager reports it, with a popup showing the average and fastest core and per-core bars
- Drive temperature: for every drive that reports one, no sensor service needed
- Chipset temperature: Intel chipsets from the 8 series on, through the optional sensor service
Text-Only Items
In graph mode, any item can now drop its graph and show just its text. This is handy for items such as network, where the value says more than the history. Turn it off per item in Settings → Items.
More in the Details Window
- Graphics cards show their board maker and PCIe link width and speed
- Motherboard shows the chipset model
- With the sensor service, Intel processors show TDP, power limits, multiplier range and ring clock
- With the sensor service, memory shows its timings and clocks on Intel 12th–14th gen and AMD Ryzen
Upgrading With the Sensor Service
The sensor service changed in this release. Running the installer normally updates it. A silent upgrade such as winget upgrade does not, and Pulsar will say the service needs updating. Run the installer once by hand, or run pulsar-sensors.exe --install from an administrator terminal.
