Reminders

On the TV

OK (or Hold OK > Remind me) on a future programme in the guide or in search. When it starts, TiviBro asks Watch or Dismiss, or switches by itself if you set When a reminder starts that way. You can be reminded a few minutes early.

Reminders work with TiviBro closed too, as long as the TV is on: the TV shows its own alert over whatever you're watching, another app or an HDMI input included, and Watch opens TiviBro on the channel. If it started a while ago and the channel has catch-up, TiviBro offers Watch from the start. A reminder that came due while you were away is never lost: TiviBro asks when you come back, and one that already ended is offered from catch-up. (Some TVs show a toast instead of an alert; select it to watch.)

Reminders are for someone using the TV. When the screensaver, the Gallery or art screen, or Always Ready is showing, the alert waits and comes up once you're back (while the programme is still on); otherwise TiviBro asks the next time you open it. Telling whether the screen is in use needs two permissions the TV only gives TiviBro on a rooted TV (installed with the Homebrew Channel or install.sh, which add them); elsewhere reminders show whatever is on screen. With TiviBro closed, a rooted TV shows the alert with Watch and Dismiss; other TVs show a notification you can select to watch. Inside TiviBro, a reminder waits if nobody has pressed a button for 10 minutes and nothing is playing.
