zpool-set 1.1.2

  • The value in the property editor can be edited, not only replaced: ←/→, home/end, backspace, delete and the ctrl keys work inside it, and a long value scrolls in its field instead of running off the row. Typing still replaces a value that has not been touched yet.
  • The picker filter and the main / filter are editable in place too; they only appended and deleted from the end.

  • ←/→ scroll the plan and the text screens sideways when a line is wider than the terminal.
  • A text with a tab-indented line wider than the terminal lost its last lines: the tab made the cut line four columns too wide, it wrapped, and the extra row pushed the end past the bottom. Tabs are expanded before the text is shown.
  • The plan and the text screens left one empty row under their help line.

  • Vdev properties (vdevprops(7)): v opens the vdev tree of the pool (type, state, size, errors, comment) and enter shows a vdev's properties with the same editor: the fault thresholds zfsd/zed read (checksum_n/t, io_n/t, slow_io_n/t, slow_io_events), failfast, allocating, sit_out/autosit on raidz/draid, comment, path, the statistics and the vdev's user properties. Pool and vdev edits apply together (zpool set io_n=10 tank mirror-0).
  • Pre-flight for vdevs follows the kernel: bootsize is read-only despite the man page, path only on leaves and only under /dev/, allocating only on top-level vdevs, sit_out/autosit only on raidz/draid, the root vdev needs feature@vdev_zaps_v2; a threshold on a leaf is lost when the leaf is replaced, and goes back to the daemon's default by being set to 2^64-1.
  • CLI: -vdev VDEV (repeatable; root, a leaf's path, or all) scopes -list, -get, -set and -reset; -vdevs prints the tree; -catalogue and -describe cover both catalogues; -dump/-restore include the vdev properties.
  • Configuration file ~/.config/zpool-set/config (ZPOOLSET_CONFIG, XDG) with mouse, features and color, and the matching -mouse, -features=false and -color=false flags.
  • Mouse support (m toggles): click a row to select it, click again to open it, the wheel scrolls; works in the editor too.
  • The pool comment is checked against the kernel's 32-character limit.

  • The pool argument may be a path on a ZFS file system (., /usr/local/etc): it is resolved to the pool holding it (zpool takes no paths at all).
