Added

  • Hold Ctrl while dragging with Cut (X) to insert a transparent band.
Annotations shift with the image, and insertion supports undo and redo.

  • Tab cycles region selection between free, square, 3:4, and 16:9 while
capturing; Shift+Tab cycles back. The capture guide shows the active aspect.

  • Fresh captures save automatically without losing the clipboard copy or timed
preview. Set [output] autosave = false to opt out. Saved files survive preview
expiry, and explicit copy-only output remains copy-only.

  • Save As (Ctrl+Shift+S): choose a PNG destination.
The chooser follows the active theme, remembers its folder during editing,
and saves lossless PNGs atomically on a worker.
It opens centered without rearranging the desktop and retains editable layers
in recent captures. Save, Save As, and Copy + Save close the editor after success
and replace its originating preview or pin with a fresh unpinned preview.
Reveal and Copy path use the saved PNG without creating another file.
    Closing during preparation or chooser cancellation cannot reopen the editor;
unfinished drawing gestures and initial backdrop loading finish before saving.
Explicit non-PNG filenames are rejected without changing the draft or file.

  • A folder button beside each preview or pin's link-copy button, plus R while
hovered, to save the shot if needed and reveal it in the default file browser.

  • A readable shortcuts card above the capture/editor canvas. Press ? or click
its header to collapse it; scroll the card when the screen is too short.

  • Press E (edit) or A (annotate) in the capture picker to toggle keeping
the annotator open after capture, including scrolling captures.

  • Press T ("tack") while hovering a preview to pin or unpin it, alongside
the pin button and Ctrl+P. The editor keeps T for Text.

Changed

  • Remember the latest five completed captures even after their previews expire,
without requiring annotation, copying, saving, or pinning. Recent cards always
reopen for annotation, and further edits update the same entry.
  • Keep a subtle dotted image boundary visible with every tool, with crop handles
available only in Select mode when no annotation is selected.
  • Framed canvas growth keeps 15 px of mat beyond a layer that outgrows the
normal frame, so an arrow or label no longer ends flush against the edge.
  • A label typed outside the image grows the canvas as soon as its caret is
placed there and keeps pace with the text, instead of flashing away when the
placing click ends and only returning on commit.
  • Canvas growth is live in both directions: the mat and card shadow follow a
layer as it is drawn or carried past the image edge, and give way again as
it is carried back, instead of settling on release. Framed previews its
window-gray frame the way Overflow previews its tight bounds.
  • Keep a preview pinned once it is dragged, whether reordering the stack or
moving it elsewhere on screen, including Super+left-drag.
  • Use the active window-border color for the pin icon while a preview is pinned.
  • Match pins, editor controls, tooltips, window-selection highlights, and crop
outlines to Omarchy's theme files, with live updates when the theme changes.
  • Hide the cursor and drag handles while placing arrow heads, tails, bends, and
line endpoints; restore them on release or cancellation.

Fixed

  • Run OCR's tesseract on one thread. Its OpenMP pool spun on every core and
made text grabs slower, not faster: a full-screen read drops from about
1.7 s to 1.0 s with a third of the CPU time, and reads the same text.
  • Retain logical display dimensions inside exported PNGs, so captures from
scaled monitors reopen at the correct size from Omaroll, files, or the
clipboard without downsampling or slowing the fast PNG encoder.
  • Remove the screen-share exclusion rule from the recommended Hyprland setup.
It blacks out the scrolling capture region, including its transparent hole.
  • Report a missing preview image when copying instead of using its smaller
    display thumbnail as the screenshot.
  • Speed up lossless PNG output and load a small display image for the corner
preview, removing the multi-second encoding delay on large monitors while
keeping full-resolution pixels for copying, saving, dragging, and editing.
  • Cancelling automatic scroll capture interrupts frame-settling retries instead
of waiting several seconds for the retry window to expire.
  • Ignore delayed starts and queued status updates from stopped scrolling
captures when switching modes or choosing a new region.
  • Keep auto-scroll Start and Continue responsive while injection backends are
probed, and cancel pending setup when leaving the capture.
  • Preserve pristine working pixels and the final operation log when recent
publication fails after output. Pending autosaves cannot substitute pixels
from an earlier document, and output waits for gestures and default backdrops.
Drain persistence workers without re-entering GUI callbacks during teardown.
Replace reopened shelf entries before pruning unrelated captures.
  • Show the corner preview and dismiss the overlay before saving the full-resolution
recent document, removing the extra history-compression pause after capture.
  • Preserve image proportions when reopening a pin or preview whose backdrop
or annotations expanded the original capture.
  • Extend spotlight dimming across the live canvas while typing text outside
it, without waiting for the text to be committed.
  • A long label being typed can no longer end up shifted sideways with the
start of every line cut off. Its box is always sized to the text, yet a
sideways touchpad swipe over it, or Qt centring the caret at the end of a
full line, could scroll it, and nothing scrolled it back until commit.
  • A spotlight on a grown canvas no longer recomposes that whole canvas on
every repaint, pointer hover included: only the patch its lens magnifies is
composed, which takes a 6K drag from 37 ms a frame to under 5.
  • Moving or drawing a layer no longer leaves torn outlines, stale selection
handles, or a stepped block of dimming or backdrop behind it. Dragging out a
spotlight, hollow ellipses, selected pen and highlighter strokes, layers
carried past the image edge in Overflow, and any layer carried past the edge
while a spotlight is on the canvas all repaint completely.
  • Show capture crosshair guides and the correct hovered window on pointer entry,
without waiting for the first mouse movement.
  • Keep dashed selection outlines stable during partial repaints, including
narrow rounded rectangles and scaled displays.
  • Match the editor's background padding, image corners, and scaled shadows to
saved captures, and fit the complete background frame in the preview.
  • Keep previews and pins frameless at the compositor level across theme changes,
preventing a second outline around the frame Omasnap draws.
  • Suppress the armed tool while moving or resizing an annotation, including
the cut-band preview, and keep that tool ready for the next canvas gesture.
  • Keep screenshot content anchored while dragging crop handles, then re-center
    the image on release.
  • Preserve the editor's keyboard focus when late pointer events arrive from a
    dismissed scrolling panel.
  • Keep the scrolling overlay eligible for keyboard focus after releasing its
exclusive grab, so Escape remains available when the overlay has focus.
