@omegakatana92 omegakatana92 released this 28 Oct 16:15

Development snapshot of the native Slip Stream recompilation (Windows x64 and Steam Deck / Linux x86_64).

STATUS: the V60 program is translated to C and frame-accurate against the MAME reference. The sound board runs the original Z80 program on MAME's Z80 with RF5C68 and YM3438, mixed to SDL2; its sample and state hashes match the reference for 106 of the first 120 frames. The game still renders a black screen due to an unresolved boot-timing issue, so this build is NOT playable yet.

No ROM, BIOS, graphics, audio or region data is included. Use your own MAME slipstrm.zip:
Windows: python extract_regions.py slipstrm.zip regions
slipstream.exe --regions regions
Linux: put slipstrm.zip in ~/.local/share/slipstream/ (or set SLIPSTREAM_REGIONS)

    Built in WSL Ubuntu 22.04 with SDL2; smoke-tested headlessly. It carries no game data.

Credits: the core of this project is arcade-decomp by Sebastian Toyos (@cheviman), https://github.com/cheviman/arcade-decomp, with the System 32 runtime from his segasonic-decomp. The sound board uses MAME's Z80/RF5C68 and ymfm (BSD-3-Clause). Please preserve the notices.

Sound note: MAME's own title screen is silent for the first 8 seconds, so a zero-level capture at boot is expected. The remaining issue is a frame-106 state divergence in the shared-RAM command area, not a crash. The display remains black.
