In a Windows local Codex task, an attempted apply_patch to add a deterministic monetary amount-to-words formatter failed before apply_patch ran, with “SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token”. A separate subsequent environment instruction reported a content block and explicitly prohibited repeating the action or reproducing it through another route. No code was created, no retry was performed and no reason/category or call identifier was exposed. The formatter would serve an existing deterministic document template, with exact monetary data; it is not LLM legal drafting or a payment operation. Please review the restriction and clarify its reason and scope. If it is formally withdrawn, please provide an explicit environment instruction permitting reassessment of the original action. We are not requesting weaker sandbox permissions, a different executor, broader integrations or a bypass. The sanitized audit records the distinction between the parse failure and the later prohibition. No credentials, client data or contract text are included.
Environment: Windows local execution. Installed Codex Windows package version: 26.1007.2314.0 (package metadata; not a claim about the bundled CLI version).
This is a request for review or routing to the competent team. It does not assume the restriction is a confirmed Codex bug, that this forum can lift an environment restriction, or that a community reply grants permission to retry. No session transcript, repository content, credentials, customer data or contract text is included.
