Highlights

  • Correct native cleanup in Node workers: guarded writes, moves, and staged-file cleanup close native-created descriptors through their originating binding, eliminating unmanaged-descriptor warnings while preserving Node's own descriptor tracking. (#438)

Fixes and compatibility

  • Retain the correct closer through errors and native-mode changes, including staged files whose parent directory was opened by Node. Borrowed handles keep their caller-owned lifetime.
  • On Windows, close exported descriptors through the same host runtime's libuv table that opened them. Descriptor-producing operations require complete native close support before allocation; stale helpers are treated as unavailable under the existing native-mode policy.
  • Add real Worker coverage on Node 22/24 and verify that Windows native close releases both file and directory descriptors. Forced Worker.terminate() reclamation remains a documented limitation; callers should close retained resources and finish in-flight work before termination.
