Description of issue

I'm using python3.10, but Homebrew now has python3.11 as the default python.

I found out that I can't use python3.10 with the python3 command. And I tried to run brew link python@3.10, but it doesn't link python3.10 to python3.

So, the question is, do I have to link manually via ln -s python3.10 python3, and can Homebrew still do that for me?

Is there some way to tell Homebrew that I'm only using python3.10, and not python3.11?
For example, set the environment variable HOMEBREW_PYTHON_VERSION=3.10. And then, all subsequent brew <command> python will be specific to python3.10.

From brew info python@3.10, you can add

/usr/local/opt/python@3.10/libexec/bin

to your PATH if you want to call python3.10 as python3.
