Your customers can use your app from ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI app. They sign in with the account they already have, and your access rules decide what they see. Your app's MCP server is the part those AI apps connect to. It's separate from the Supabase MCP server, which connects your own coding agent to your projects.
How it works
The server runs as an Edge Function in your Supabase project. Supabase Auth handles sign-in.
Customers approve the AI app on your consent page. The OAuth Consent block gives you one.
Each request runs as the customer who signed in. Your Row Level Security (RLS) policies decide what they see, so a tool can be a plain query with no service role key.
You can also build UI that your tools show in the chat, in clients that support MCP Apps, like ChatGPT.
You still write your tools, turn on Supabase Auth's OAuth 2.1 server, and change a few Auth and function settings. If your app's main interface is an agent, start from the Headless App block instead.
To add your server in ChatGPT, customers need developer mode turned on.
