Keiko 0.3.11

Keiko's first public download release. Pick your platform below, unzip, and start it —
Node.js and the OpenCode sidecar are already inside; nothing else has to be installed.

Unsigned evaluation build (ADR-0121 D1, ADR-0163 D9). The bundles are sealed, so macOS
will not report a damaged app, but they carry no Apple Developer ID, no notarization and no
Windows trusted publisher yet. That is why the first launch needs the one extra confirmation
described below. Every integrity digest, containment and provenance check stays enforced.

  • Knowledge Pod indexing works against strict OpenAI-compatible gateways: an answered HTTP 400/422 to Keiko's embedding request triggers a bounded fallback to the minimal wire shape (no encoding_format; array batches degrade to per-item requests), with per-endpoint strictness memory, one absolute deadline across the whole ladder, and error causes reported from the actual failing response.
  • A fresh install can chat immediately after saving gateway credentials: conversation readiness is verified on demand with the minimal chat probe at chat creation and send, honest rejections and observed not-ready states are respected without re-probing, and probe failures land as redacted operator diagnostics.
  • A field-twin end-to-end test drives the full fresh-install journey (credentials, immediate chat, Knowledge Pod, HTML+Markdown folder, indexing to vectors) against a simulated strict LiteLLM over the real production transports.

Install on macOS

  1. Download and unzip; double-click Keiko.app inside the extracted folder (moving it to
    /Applications first also works — the first start adopts it there).
  2. macOS will say it cannot verify the developer. Open System Settings → Privacy &
    Security    , scroll to Security, click Open Anyway, and confirm. One time only.
  3. Keiko installs itself to /Applications, starts, and opens at http://127.0.0.1:1983.

If a start fails, Keiko now says why in a dialog. Runbook:

Install on Windows

Run keiko-windows-x64-setup.exe (SmartScreen: More info → Run anyway), or unzip and start
Keiko.exe.
