Dotify Studio 1.0.2 (fork)
Fork of brailleapps/dotify-studio, which is no longer maintained.
New in 1.0.2
- Emboss to an embosser on the network, without a print queue. Braille has to reach the embosser untouched, which requires a raw print queue, and those can no longer be created on macOS. The application now sends the data straight to the embosser instead (AppSocket/JetDirect, port 9100). In the embosser settings, pick Add an embosser on the network... at the end of the device list and enter its address, for example
192.168.1.50. The address is remembered and can be selected like any other device. This works on Windows too, where it avoids depending on a shared printer. - Fixed a save bug. The change watcher could read a half-updated value and report that a file had been changed by another application when it had not. Saving to a new location also stored the wrong timestamp.
From 1.0.1
- 28 rows and no cover page by default, both still changeable per document.
- Fixed: a typed number of copies was ignored unless Enter was pressed, so several copies produced one copy.
- A pause between copies showing how many remain; Enter embosses the next copy, Escape cancels the rest. The dialog appears when the copy has been sent to the print queue, not when the embosser has finished, so wait until it stops before continuing.
- Builds and runs on Java 17 or later with OpenJFX, instead of Java 8.
