Splitting while compresing with tome size

Hello, is it possible to split an archive on tomes on, let's say, 1 GB file size? Thanks!

Hi! Sorry, I don't know what an archive tome would be.

But there is no command that does any sort of splitting or limiting to some sort of size.

You know, you have files who after compressing are ablut 4 GBs in size. With this command you'll have four files, each 1 GB. Or eight files, each 500 MB. Whatever filesize is in the command/option.

Ah, I guess that makes sense for older filesystems or website upload limits.
