2.0.0
Clear Cache 2.0 is ready for Kirby 6.
New
- Caches by name. The view lists the caches of Kirby (pages, UUIDs, updates), of your config and of your plugins. Each cache is cleared through Kirby, so caches in Redis, Memcached or APCu are cleared too. A cache is cleared for all domains of your site (with and without
www) and for the command line. - Number of files and sizes for every entry. They load in the background, so the view opens right away.
- Old lock files from Kirby 3 and 4. Kirby 5 and 6 still read them, and as long as one exists, Kirby ignores the real lock of that page, file or user. The view finds them in the content and accounts folders without slowing down, and only shows them when there are some.
- Confirmation before clearing a whole section and before resetting the failed login attempts.
- View button: add
clear-cacheto the buttons of the site view (or any other view) for a dropdown that clears the pages cache, all caches or all media files. - Kirby CLI:
kirby clear-cachelists everything, kirby clear-cache cache pagesclears the pages cache, kirby clear-cache mediaclears all media files. - Texts in English, German and Turkish.
Fixes
- Clearing media files also clears the pages cache, so cached pages no longer link to thumbnails that return a 404.
- Only folders inside the cache and media folders can be removed, never folders that contain other parts of your site. Links are removed without deleting their targets.
- The Panel no longer receives the full paths of your server.
Breaking changes
- Requires Kirby 6 and PHP 8.3 or newer. For Kirby 4 and 5, keep using 1.1.1.
- The cache section lists caches by name instead of the folders in
site/cache. Clearing all caches still empties the whole folder.
See the README for the view button, the CLI command and the permissions.

1.1.1
Security
- Only admins can clear the cache now. Before, every logged-in Panel user could clear the cache and the media folder, remove content lock files and reset the login throttling by deleting
.logins, even when the Clear cache area was disabled for their role. Please update. - The clear request no longer accepts crafted folder values. Before, a logged-in Panel user could use it to delete any folder or file the web server can write to.
Fixes
- The success notification shows again after clearing. On Kirby 5 it failed with a JavaScript error.
Upgrade notes
-
Other roles need the new
owebstudio.clear-cache.clearpermission to use the plugin. Add it to their user blueprint:permissions: owebstudio.clear-cache: clear: true
-
To hide the plugin from a role, admins included, set
access: clear-cache: falsein its blueprint. -
Works with Kirby 4 and 5. Replace the plugin folder to update.
