2.0.0
Image Editor 2.0 brings a new, lean editor and works with Kirby 6.
New
- A new editor of its own, built on Cropper.js and the Panel's own components. It follows the Panel's language and dark mode, and it is ten times smaller than before.
- Crop freely or with a ratio: original, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, in portrait or landscape. Set your own presets with the
ratiosoption, or fix the ratio withratio. - Rotate by 90 degrees and straighten by up to 45 degrees. The image zooms in just enough, so the saved image never has empty corners.
- Flip, resize and zoom (buttons, mouse wheel or pinch).
- Filters: brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sepia and invert. The saved image looks exactly like the preview, in every browser.
- Undo, redo and reset.
- Keyboard shortcuts:
RandShift+Rrotate,HandVflip,+,-and0zoom,Ctrl+Zundoes,Ctrl+Shift+Zredoes,Ctrl+Ssaves (⌘on a Mac). - Edit button in the file view: add
image-editorto thebuttonsof a file blueprint to edit any image from its file view. - New options:
qualityfor JPEG and WebP images, andmaxWidthandmaxHeightto scale down large images when they are saved. - WebP images can be saved too, in browsers that can create WebP files. GIF and AVIF images can be saved as a copy.
- Texts in English, German, French and Turkish.
Changed
- Save and Save as upload the edited image like any other upload in the Panel, also in parts when it is large. Kirby's permissions, hooks and file blueprint rules apply.
- After "Save as", the copy replaces the original in the field.
- The "Buy a license" link in the Panel goes straight to the checkout.
Removed
- Drawing, shapes, icons, text and the mask filter are gone, together with the TOAST UI editor, which is no longer maintained. If you need them, stay on version 1.x with Kirby 4 or 5.
- The
cssMaxWidth,cssMaxHeightandmenuBarPositionoptions.
Upgrade notes
- Requires Kirby 6 and PHP 8.3 or newer. For Kirby 4 and 5, keep using 1.3.0.
- The plugin is now called Image Editor. The repository moved to https://github.com/owebstudio/kirby-image-editor, the Composer package is
owebstudio/kirby-image-editorand the plugin folder issite/plugins/kirby-image-editor. Delete the oldsite/plugins/kirby-tui-image-editorfolder when you install the new version. - Your blueprints and content keep working: the field type is still
image-editor. Themenuoption keepscrop, rotate, flip, resizeandfilterand ignores the other tools. - Config options now use the
owebstudio.image-editorprefix. Options underowebstudio.tui-image-editorare still read. - Your license key stays active.
See the README for all options.
License: oweb studio Commercial License
1.3.0
License
Image Editor Field is now licensed under the oweb studio Commercial License. Versions up to 1.2.1 stay under the MIT license.
- Local and staging sites need no license key:
localhost,.testand.localdomains and thestaging.,dev.andtest.subdomains. - A live site needs the license key from your purchase email. Activate it with the Activate button in the field's notice, or in the Panel's System view by clicking the license status of the plugin (Kirby 5). Only admins can activate and deactivate licenses.
- Without a key on a live site, the editor still opens, but Save and Save as are locked and the field shows a notice. Your website keeps working.
- Keys of the former oweb studio bundle are accepted.
- To activate the key and to validate it about once a week, the plugin sends the license key, the domain of the site and an activation ID to the Lemon Squeezy License API. This only happens during Panel requests, never while visitors browse your site.
Upgrade notes
- Requires PHP 8.1 or newer.
- Works with Kirby 4 and 5.
- Replace the plugin folder to update, then activate your license key on live sites.
1.2.1
Security
- Save as no longer accepts file names that point outside the page folder. Before, a name like
../../xcould write a PNG file anywhere on the server. - Save and Save as now go through Kirby's own file actions, so they respect the
files.createandfiles.replacepermissions, file hooks, theacceptrules of your file blueprints and Kirby's content checks. Before, a Panel user could overwrite any file of the page with arbitrary content, including SVG files. Please update. - Save as no longer overwrites existing files.
Fixes
- Fixed an error 500 on PHP 8.4 and newer when debug mode is on.
- The editor opens again on Kirby 5, and saving over an image no longer ends in an error.
- Save as keeps the image format: JPEG images are saved as
.jpginstead of.png.
Upgrade notes
- Panel users now need the
files.replacepermission to save over an image and thefiles.createpermission to use Save as. - Copies made with Save as get the same file template as the original, so the template's
acceptrules apply to them. - Works with Kirby 4 and 5.
- Replace the plugin folder to update.
