decoding front ends: clippy and rustfmt under edition 2024
whole-stream GPU decoding of H.264, HEVC, VP9 and AV1
the loader-dependent tests need the system-loader feature
H.264 decode over oxideav-h264's parser
AV1 decode over oxideav-av1's header parser
VP9 decode over oxideav-vp9's header parser
HEVC decode over oxideav-h265's parser
pluggable host loader, optional system loader
untrack Cargo.lock (library crate; release-plz owns the resolution)
dlsym instead of libloading
edition 2024, MSRV 1.95
rank the IDR-only H.264 decoder behind the pure-Rust h264_sw
README points CodecPreferences at oxideav-pipeline
README examples use the current registry API
add CI / crates.io / docs.rs / MIT-license badges
Added
hevc, vp9, av1, h264 features: whole-stream VLD decoding (HevcDecoder, Vp9Decoder, Av1Decoder, H264Decoder) over the oxideav-h265 / -vp9 / -av1 / -h264 parsers, on a shared session::DecodeSession (config, context, surface pool, NV12 / P010 read-back); VA buffer layouts in sys::{hevc, vp9, av1}
host::HostLoader (new / with_bracket) and host::install: a host-provided symbol resolver (plus optional enter / exit bracketing of every native call) in place of the dlopen of libva
system-loader feature (default): dlopen of libva.so.2 / libva-drm.so.2 through dlsym and the render node through libc; without it the crate builds on any target and reaches libva only through a HostLoader
bitstream feature: the IDR-only H264VaDecoder over oxideav-bitstream (registry implies it and system-loader)
Changed
--no-default-features builds no longer load libva themselves (enable system-loader) and no longer contain decoder::{H264VaDecoder, DecodedFrame} (enable bitstream); default-feature builds are unchanged
sys::Vtable gains the C library's open / close, which the render node is opened through
Other
edition 2024, MSRV 1.95
loader: libva.so.2 / libva-drm.so.2 are opened and resolved through the dlsym crate instead of libloading (sys::FrameworkSmoke now holds dlsym::Library handles; the sys::Vtable fields are unchanged)
