Running pyls with python -m pyls

Thank you for the superb package!

Is there a way to specify which version of python you want to run pyls under?

I've tried running python2 -m pyls, which is what I do for pytest, but that didn't seem to work

It exits immediately, after printing a warning (the warning is nothing to do with pyls tbc:

It seems this might be due to your Pandas installation. Can you run pip install -U pandas and then try again with debug logs? pyls -vvv

TBC, my concern here isn't anything to do with the pandas warning, but by pyls exiting.

Though after upgrading pandas the exiting problem persists:

Try python2 ~/.local/bin/pyls (or wherever you have pyls script installed). You will most likely also have to install python-language-server for the appropriate version of python (python2 -mpip install --user python-language-server or something; in case you have pyls installed system-wide, you have to use sudo and don't use --user).

I just tried it on python-language-server==0.17.2. Running either python2 -m pyls or python3 -m pyls, it starts and exists 9.2s and 5.9s later respectively.

Running pyls works as expected - no exiting shortly after.
And so does python2 ~/.local/bin/pyls and python3 ~/.local/bin/pyls

So it's not actually anything to do with python2 / python3 - it's when run with python -m where it doesn't work

I changed the title to refer to running from python -m (which is the canonical way of running python modules with a specific python, and works for every other module I've encountered)

Seems odd that it works one way and not the other. I can look into what the differences might be.

So I can't reproduce your issue, but I do note that pyls waits for stdin, whereas python -m pyls exits immediately. I will look into this difference.
