Charts stop taking taps meant for the buttons drawn over them, the ref and event types get a
subpath of their own, and a new agent skill, Apparatus, builds interactive explainers for a
React Native screen.

Added

  • panelui-native/primitives/refs. The ref types every component forwards (ViewRef,
TextRef, TextInputRef, ScrollViewRef) now have a subpath. A project that forbids
importing the root entry, because Metro loads all of it, can type a useRef or a
forwardRef wrapper without it. The TextInput event types (KeyPressEvent,
SubmitEditingEvent, SelectionChangeEvent, ContentSizeChangeEvent) and ViewTokenOf are
exported here and from the root; before, they were exported from neither. Reported by
    @techzealot in #259.

  • activateAfterLongPress on every chart readout. It sets how long a press has to be held
before the readout takes the touch: 180 ms by default. It is on the Tooltip of BarChart,
LineChart, AreaChart, MirrorAreaChart, LiveLineChart, ScatterChart, CandlestickChart,
WaterfallChart, PyramidChart, BumpChart and BubbleChart, and on Plot.Cursor. Set 0 to
read on contact, for a chart with nothing over it and no scroll view around it.

  • Apparatus, an agent skill that explains an idea by building a small isometric machine
whose working is the idea: a carriage on a spring for a spring animation, a magazine of balls
for a rate limiter. The agent writes it as a component, drawn with react-native-svg, moved on
the UI thread and framed in a PanelUI card with a live readout. It ships with a drawing kit
and five example figures, which are also in the example app.

npx skills add panel-ui/PanelUI --skill apparatus

Changed

  • Chart readouts wait for a held press. A readout used to take the touch the moment a
finger landed, which cancelled every Pressable drawn over the chart and read the chart
instead of scrolling the screen. It now waits 180 ms, as HeatmapChart already did, so a tap
reaches a floating button and a swipe scrolls. Reported by @arnabJ in
    #260.
  • react-native-gesture-handler 2.5.0 or later is required. Holding before activating is a
gesture-handler 2.5.0 feature, and HeatmapChart and Sortable already relied on it. The peer
    range said 2.0.0.

Docs

  • Skills, under Integrations, lists every agent skill in the repository with its install
command. Apparatus has a page with a recording of each example. Logo Maker moved into the
    section; its old address redirects.
  • The BarChart page explains how the readout shares the touch with buttons drawn over it.
