v1.28.0
Added
- Standings: penalties and damage, on every row. When race control flags
a car, a mark appears straight after the driver's name: a red flag for a
black flag (a penalty to serve in the pits), a red flag with a disc in
it for the meatball (the car is damaged and must pit for repairs), a
yellow gauge with its needle down when the driver has been told to slow
down after cutting the track, and a red DQ once they are
disqualified. A car can show more than one — a damaged car that also cut
the track shows both — and a disqualified car shows DQ alone. Hover a mark
for what it means. The marks come from iRacing's own per-car flags and go
as soon as race control lowers the flag. Needs the updated bridge; with an
older one no marks appear.
Installing on Windows
Download the -setup.exe and run it. It installs for the current
user only, so there is no Administrator prompt, and it opens the app when
it finishes. The .msi beside it is the same application packaged for
per-machine or managed deployment — you do not need it.
Windows will show "Windows protegió su PC / Windows protected your PC"
and name the publisher as unknown. That is expected: neither installer is
code-signed, and SmartScreen blocks anything it cannot attribute to a
publisher. Choose More info → Run anyway to continue.

Fixed
- Driver flags show in Standings and Relative. With a real sim the flag
column stayed empty for everyone. iRacing names a driver's flag (FlairName,
e.g. "Spain") but sends no country code, and the bridge was reading a code
field the sim does not have, so every driver arrived with no country. The
bridge now works the country out from the flag's name. ISO names and the
everyday ones ("Russia", "South Korea", "Turkey") both work, and the matching
ignores case and accents. A flair that is not a country still draws no flag.
Needs the updated bridge.

Changed
- A new logo. TelemetryLab has a new mark: a white T over a teal L, both
leaning forward. It is the app's icon (taskbar, Start menu, installer, the
window itself), sits beside the name in the Overlay Manager's title bar, and
appears in telemetrylab.app's tab icon, nav and footer and at the top of the
README. On the site's light theme the T turns dark, so the mark stays
readable. The site also has a home-screen icon for iPhone and iPad now.

Changed
- A new website, in English and Spanish. telemetrylab.app is now laid out
like the overlay sites sim racers already know: a centred hero with the
download, a strip of the numbers that matter (five overlays, seven widgets,
four themes, free, MIT), and the overlays themselves on screen — real
captures placed the way they sit over the game. Below it, every overlay gets
its own card with a capture, then the features, three install steps, the
price (nothing), the open-source story and an FAQ. The whole page is also at
telemetrylab.app/es, with a language switch
in the bar. The radar finally has a capture of its own, and the dashboard
capture shows the 1.27 LED boxes.
Fixed
- Radar: the L / R box stays lit while the car is still beside you. The
boxes followed iRacing's spotter channel (CarLeftRight) frame by frame,
and the sim drops it back to "clear" with a car still alongside whenever it
decides one of you is not "driving" — off the throttle into a braking zone,
on the way out of the pits — so the letter went dark, or never lit, exactly
when you were side by side. The bridge now holds a side the spotter has
called for as long as that car still overlaps you along the track, and
clears it once it is a car length away. A car the spotter never calls still
lights nothing: which side it is on is the one thing iRacing does not
publish. Needs the updated bridge.

Added
- Coach: your lap against the session best. The Coach now also holds
every lap you complete against the fastest clean lap anyone in your class
has set this session — yours included — corner by corner, so you can see
where the quickest driver out there is finding the time. The strip shows
that lap time asBEST, in the purple the timing screens use for the
overall best, and updates the moment someone beats it; a new Session
best section under the tips names who set it and lists what each corner
cost or gained you against it, adding up to the lap gap. It says how much,
not why: iRacing publishes nobody's pedals but yours, so the causes stay
with the coach's comparison against your own best. In a multi-class race
you are compared with your own class only. It can be switched off under
Coach → Coaching → Session best in the Manager. Needs the updated bridge;
with an older one the section stays hidden.
Changed
- The Radar is now two LED boxes, L and R. Modelled on the LED letter
boxes on sim rigs: a square dot matrix in a carbon frame, an L at the
left of the window and an R at the right. When the spotter calls a car
alongside, that side's letter lights up red; when the side is clear its
LEDs stay dark, with the letter just readable so you know which box is
which. Nothing else is drawn — no panel, no background, no text. Size the
window to sit either side of your car, or narrow it to bring the boxes
together. The old map's angle, which guessed how far across the track the
other car was (iRacing never says), is gone.
Fixed
- The Dashboard's Enabled switch, Appearance and Visibility settings now
reach its widget windows. A widget opened in its own window ignored them
— they changed the Manager's preview and nothing over the game. Turning the
Dashboard off now hides its widget windows, the theme and the saturation,
brightness and opacity sliders apply to them live, and so do the "Hide
when" rules. Turning a single widget off in the Widgets list hides its open
window too. The windows stay open while hidden, so they come back where
they were. - "Hide when: In the pits" now works, on every overlay. The rule was
saved but never checked.

Added
- Fuel per lap, lap by lap. Fuel Calc now keeps a table of every lap you
complete, newest at the top, under the pit strategies: the litres the lap
burned, how that compares with the average the strategy is working from
(green under it, red over), the lap time, and what was left in the tank at
the line. A thirsty lap, a fuel-save lap or a stop now shows as itself
instead of disappearing into the average. Laps through the pit lane are
taggedPIT, a lap across a refuel shows no burn rather than a nonsense
one, and a lap the app only saw part of — the first one after it starts
watching, or an out-lap — is marked~because its figure is scaled up
from the part it saw. The table holds the last 100 laps and starts again
with a new session. - The mock feed's car now burns a slightly different amount each lap, more
on a faster one, so the new table has something to show without iRacing.

Changed
- A new look across every screen: race-engineer telemetry. Standings,
Relative, Fuel & Strategy, the Coach, every dashboard widget and the
Overlay Manager now read like data-analysis software on a pit wall: dark
graphite panels with thin 1 px edges, light-grey figures, and colour only
where it tells you something — green for a gain or a best lap, red for a
loss, yellow for a warning, purple for the session's fastest. One cyan
accent marks your own row, the current selection and keyboard focus. Nothing
about what the screens show, or how they behave, has changed. - Every number is now in a monospaced face, so times, gaps and ratings
line up digit for digit and never shift as they update. Labels are small
grey capitals above their values, and units sit smaller and dimmer than the
number they belong to (287 KM/H). The font ships with the app, so it looks
the same offline. - Car class is a thin coloured bar, not a fill. In a multi-class race each
row opens on a slim bar in its class colour, and on Relative a small class
tag now sits right after the car number. The five class colours were
re-picked so none can be mistaken for the accent, a gain, a loss or a
warning. In a single-class session no class colour is shown at all. - Car logos are evenly sized. Wide logos — Audi, Ford, Chevrolet,
McLaren, Aston Martin — used to fill up to three times the space of a
Ferrari or Porsche crest in the same column. Each logo is now sized by its
shape, so the column reads as a row of cars rather than a row of different
sizes. - Quieter licence and iRating pill. The licence is now a short coloured
bar at the start of a flat grey pill instead of a full block of colour, so a
column of licences no longer outshouts the timing. - Charts are thinner and calmer. The input trace draws throttle in the
accent and brake in grey on a dotted grid, with a marker where each pedal
meets the live edge; the speed gauge is a thin arc; the rev lights stay grey
until the shift zone and then turn yellow and red. - Widgets have a slim header again, naming the channel — it hides itself
on a widget too small to spare the room. - Animations are shorter and calmer — position changes, qualifying laps,
the radio mark and live-status dots all still move, just faster and without
glow or bounce. - Themes: all four keep their character but now share the one cyan
accent; Endurance keeps its warm greys and loses its copper.

Added
- A radar for single-screen drivers. Without side monitors you cannot see
the car in your blind spot, only hear the spotter call it. The new Radar
widget (Dashboard → Radar, or open it in its own window) draws it: your car
in the middle, the side the spotter calls lit in red, and each car alongside
placed where it actually is — how many metres ahead or behind, and the angle
it sits at from your nose (90° is door to door, 150° is its nose at your rear
wheel). Cars closing from behind or ahead appear before they get alongside.
Whether a side is occupied comes straight from iRacing's own spotter; the
distance comes from where each car is on the lap. iRacing does not say how
far apart two cars are across the track, so the widget assumes the car is
one lane over — the angle is exact along the track and an estimate across
it. Needs the updated bridge; with an older one the radar stays blank.

- See who is talking. The Standings table now shows a radio mark after a
driver's name while they are transmitting on the radio, so you can tell who
is speaking without guessing from the voice. While they hold the mic, radio
waves pulse out from the mark and a ring ripples away behind it, so it
catches your eye from the corner of the screen; it disappears when they let
go (and holds still if your system asks for reduced motion). Needs the
updated bridge; with an older one the table simply never shows it.

Added
- A coach that tells you where the lap went. A new Coach overlay
lines every lap you complete up against your quickest clean lap and splits
it into corners. It names the one or two corners that cost you most, and
why — "Braked 14 m early", "Coasted 120 m off both pedals", "Over-slowed —
apex 8 km/h slower", "Back on the throttle 30 m later" — with the time each
one cost. When the same mistake keeps coming back it says so ("4 of the
last 6 laps"). Underneath, a strip of the lap shows where time went, and a
list of every corner shows what it gained or lost; the corners always add
up to the lap's difference from your reference. A quicker clean lap
becomes your new reference, and the coach shows where you found the time.
Laps through the pit lane or with a reset are not compared, an off-track
lap is compared but never becomes your reference, and a corner driven
behind or alongside another car is marked as traffic instead of being
blamed on you. Manager → Coach sets the smallest loss worth a tip, how many
tips to show, and whether the lap strip and corner list are shown.
Everything runs on your PC in the bridge. The reference is kept until you
change car or track or the bridge restarts. Corners are numbered T1, T2, …
in the order the coach finds them, not by the track's official turn
numbers. - The mock bridge drives a real lap. The Python mock now drives your car
round a synthetic lap of Spa with real braking zones and a driver who makes
known mistakes — and runs wide every ninth lap — so the Coach works end to
end without iRacing.
