Parcels v4.0.2: an Xarray-aligned, flexible Lagrangian simulation framework for geoscience

Parcels v4.0.2 is a second update of our brand-new Parcels v4.

Major new features

1. Support for time varying z and sigma coordinates. See the Sigma coordinate vertical grids tutorial (contributed by @wyatt-fluidnumerics in #2933)
2. A first atmospheric showcase of Parcels in the AIFS tutorial (contributed by @janhclem in #2963)
3. Parcels now has generalised RK2 and RK4 methods in integrators.py, which allow for much more flexibility in writing kernels. See the writing custom kernels with higher order integrators tutorial section for an example how to use this new function (contributed by @michaeldenes and @erikvansebille in #2664)
