@patodois patodois released this 10 Sep 22:21

Updated controller icons and Minecraft-inspired button textures throughout the settings interface.

Changes

  • New icons for face buttons, triggers, bumpers, sticks, D-pad and system buttons.
  • Stone-style buttons and sliders with clear highlighted and disabled states.
  • Updated settings, bindings, controller diagnostics and calibration screens.
  • Selected tabs are easier to identify, and button textures fit different screen widths.

Includes the console-style defaults, Y menu-back action, macOS Bluetooth support and automatic mouse capture from previous versions.

Installation

Close Minecraft and replace the previous JoypadMod JAR in mods with JoypadMod-1.7.10-Enhanced-0.4.0.jar. Keep only one JoypadMod version enabled.

Requires Minecraft 1.7.10, Forge and Java 8. Native macOS controller support requires macOS 11.3+ and supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

This is an experimental pre-release. The new interface still needs full in-game testing; Windows controller support remains unverified on hardware.

@patodois patodois released this 10 Sep 21:05

Controller hints now use pixel icons, with a Minecraft-inspired stone, grass and wood color palette.

Changes

  • Icons in gameplay hints, bindings and diagnostics follow your actual controller mappings.
  • Inventory hints use the correct menu bindings and fit narrower screens.
  • Console-style defaults: A selects, Y opens inventory or goes back in menus, X splits stacks, and B quick-moves items.
  • LS sprints, RS sneaks, LT/RT use or attack, and LB/RB cycle hotbar slots.
  • D-pad up changes perspective, down drops an item, left picks a block, and View/Back shows the player list.
  • Recognizable old defaults are updated automatically; other custom bindings are preserved. Use Reset twice to apply the complete default profile.

Installation

Close Minecraft and replace the previous JoypadMod JAR in mods with JoypadMod-1.7.10-Enhanced-0.3.0.jar. Keep only one JoypadMod version enabled.

Requires Minecraft 1.7.10, Forge and Java 8. Native macOS controller support requires macOS 11.3+.

Compatibility and usage

Controller support has been confirmed on Apple Silicon with an Xbox controller over Bluetooth, with an additional successful user report on a 2017 Intel Mac. Windows controller support remains unverified on hardware.

During controller testing or binding capture, use the mouse or keyboard Escape to exit. Controller menu actions are temporarily disabled in these modes.

This is an experimental pre-release. The new interface and default mappings still need full in-game testing.
